Our home

Our home is a simple one bedroom place with one bathroom including a nice shower. Dry and sunny. Open plan and sweet. We are on a rain water tank and the water is very nice. There is also a small sleepout at the end of the garden (you can see it in the photos). You are welcome to sleep wherever suits you. Close to Mathesons Bay and cafe/fish and chip shop. favoriteWhat we love about our area

A friendly relaxed little seaside town. Nice walks all around. The Leigh Sawmill pub is nice and Leigh Eats are delicious. Harbour, beach and coastal walks very close by. Sunny, mellow and pleasant! Friendly neighbours. Matakana is 15 minutes away and has shops, restaurants and a cinema etc.

Our dog friend Roger is a very happy jolly hound. He is about 30kg and is a kind of Fox terrier x Huntaway (a handsome Northland farm dog mix)...! Roger would like a minimum of two walks a day and feeding twice day please. During the day Roger can stay out on the covered deck which has sea views and access to a fenced off area of the lawn. At night time Roger sleeps in his basket inside. Its good to let him out into the garden just before bed. There are loads of nice safe dog walks to choose from and no need to drive anywhere! The dog friendly beach is 5-10 minutes walk from our house.

Roger is an exceptional, affectionate and obedient dog. We have taken a lot of affection for him and we will miss him
If we could give Roger more than 5 stars, we would! The absolute sweetest boy around. We had such a wonderful time looking after him for a few days. Charles was fantastic by means of communication and gave us a thorough rundown of everything before our arrival & went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a lovely time at Charles house in Leigh looking after Roger. He was such a great natured and friendly boy, a pleasure to look after. I spent almost a week at Charles’s lovely, cosy place in Leigh. Roger is the easiest dog to look after—chill, affectionate, and a joy to walk. Charles made sure I had everything I needed before the housesit and stayed communicative throughout. It was a great experience overall!
