Our home

We are looking for someone to look after our Black Lab Toby (5 yrs) whilst away in Australia. Toby needs to have someone around during the day and has two walks per day (early morning and afternoon) about 1 hour each time. He is not used to being left for more than a 3 hours and we want a house sitter who will be around with him or will take him on your travels in the car. Toby is good on the lead (not off lead unless on the beach) but is very interested in other dogs and will lie down if he sees one coming. Very chilled at home and affectionate, will do just about anything for food, sleeps very well at night and completely toilet trained. There is a nice beach 10 mins walk from the house or a bush walk 20 mins away (or 2 mins in the car). If you could look after the house too!, Mangawhai heads is 90 mins North of Auckland , lots of cafes, restaurants and even a New World. House is 9 year old, wifi, heat pump, double glazed, garden fully fenced, quiet street with nice neighbours.

Great experience house sitting for Ian & Kathryn. Communication was easy and clear throughout, and everything was exactly as described. Toby is a lovely, friendly dog and a pleasure to look after. Would happily sit for them again and highly recommend them.🫶🏼
We had a most enjoyable stay in Mangawhai Heads for 6 weeks during winter. Iain and Kathryn provided very clear instructions with a friendly handover and great communication throughout. They have a lovely warm, sunny home, with a small area of lawn to mow. Toby was an absolute joy to look after with his calm temperament and gentle nature. He loves walks to the beach and especially enjoyed day trips out in our motorhome for different adventures. If we had dog treats, he was happy. Mangawhai ... Mangawhai Heads is a great area to enjoy walks in the bush and the nearby beaches, with a short drive to a supermarket and a selection of cafes and bars. Very pretty scenery and a popular holiday spot in summer, although it was nice and quiet with great weather even during winter. We highly recommend this sit.

Iain and Kathryn are lovely people and very easy to deal with. They have a lovely 4 bedroom home in Mangawhai heads which is located within walking distance to the beach which makes it easy to take their dog Toby for walks. He's a very relaxed and friendly dog and gets on well with other dogs. He's very obedient to commands and is really affectionate. I enjoyed my stay there very much and hope to stay in touch with both the owners (Iain and Kathryn) and Toby the dog) 😊
