Our home

Would you like a quiet rural escape in Tauranga?

We live on a semi-rural property (only 7 minutes drive to Fraser Cover or Tauriko Shopping Centre) surrounded by nature and trees with 1 hectare of land. We have an access track (perfect for walking our dog Mokey) down the property to a waterhole/Waimapu Stream, so therefore the dog can be walked without leaving the property.

About you.....we are looking for someone who will spend a large quantity of time at home. Perhaps you work from home, are semi-retired or looking for a relaxing break.

You would stay in our comfortable spare bedroom with double bed. We have a modern kitchen with gas cooker and coffee machine and a warm log fire to keep you cosy. We also have a bbq and covered outdoor patio for meals and a deck with outdoor seating with views out to the surrounding trees. We have unlimited wifi, Sky TV and a big comfy couch for relaxing.

We have a 4 year old SPCA rescue dog called Mokey. She is easily excitable on meeting new people but is generally pretty chilled out. She doesn't need too much, just company, cuddles and pats, and a daily walk on our semi-rural property which has a track down to the Waimapu Stream. She is not great on the lead and pulls quite hard so we are happy for her to stay at home in our fully fenced property while you go about your day.

Had an awesome sit with Mokey, who was great company! Megan and Phil made sure I had all the information I needed for the the stay, and surrounding area. It is situated minutes from the city, but literally feels like you are in the country, and has a great walk to the water from the back garden. It is well positioned to explore Tauranga and the surrounding area, or just unwind and have some peace. Thank you for having me 😁
We had a beautiful weekend in Megan’s house. Everything was perfect, the house is located in a quiet area, ideal for relaxing from the busy city. Mokey she is a lovely dog, was always around us asking for cuddles. Thank you guys for letting us take care of Mokey.

We had great time looking after Mokey! House was nice and cleaned and we didn’t have any questions as Megan and Phil left great instructions. Mokey is full of energy and full of cute quirks. By the end of the stay we were sad to leave her.
This was a great house sit - as Mokey is a young dog learning the ropes, it was great to have the extensive grounds including her own private water hole for exercise. The house was great and Megan and Phil made me very welcome. Many thanks.
We have been taking care of Megan and Phil's home and their beautiful dog while they were away. Mokey is a gorgeous young energetic and very well behaved dog. She loves to be taken for a walk once or twice a day but is also good at just relaxing! Megan's and Phil's house is a little oasis with an enjoyable outside area and lovely garden.
