Our home

Hi, we are located in Ocean View, Dunedin and are looking for someone to housesit for 2.5 weeks in April 2027 while we are overseas. We are away from the afternoon of the 7th of April and returning in the morning of Monday 26th April. We are semi-rural, located on a lifestyle block overlooking the ocean, with 2 hectares of land.

We are away from the afternoon of the 7th of April and returning in the morning of Monday 26th April. We are semi-rural, located on a lifestyle block overlooking the ocean, with 2 hectares of land.
We have 3 cats and a one year old Golden Retriever. We have a small flock of rescue hens. You will be required to feed the animals and top up their water daily, as well as take the dog on a walk once or twice a day. This would be ideal for someone who loves animals and wants to get away to the seaside for a few weeks :-).

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Brighton is a lovely little seaside town just a 20 minute drive from the centre city of Dunedin. It is beautiful and peaceful. There is a local dairy and cafe. The supermarket in Green Island is just a 10 minute drive.

We have 3 cats - Luna (5), Sven (3) and Sushi (2). They require dry food and a small amount of wet food twice daily.
Our dog Nala is 1. She gets dry food twice daily. She needs to be walked once or twice a day. She loves cuddles.
The chickens have a feeder which just needs to be filled with pellets every week and water checked daily.

We thoroughly enjoyed looking after Jen's place in Ocean View - and wow, what a view! Jen is super lovely, and communication before, during and after the sit was fantastic, responsive and friendly. She left us with great written instructions. We had the joy of looking after cats Buddy, Luna, Sven and Sushi - all with different personalities and so fun and loving to hang out with. The rescue chooks were easy care, with a great set-up - everything you need for feeding and caring for them right ...
