Our home

Our house is a small family home with an awesome harbour view and big natural garden. We get whatever sun Dunedin gets all day round. The house is comfortable, easy to clean and heat. Everything functions but not necessarily new or flash. We live on a hill looking north towards Port Chalmers which has library, cafes, restaurant, 4 Square, pubs and sometimes live music. Everything functions but not necessarily new or flash. We live on a hill looking north towards Port Chalmers which has library, cafes, restaurant, 4 Square, pubs and sometimes live music. We are 10 minutes drive from the centre of city and 20 minutes from the northern beaches (Aramoana, Long Beach, Purikanui). Great tracks around the hills. There is a cycleway that goes around the whole harbour, bikes in the shed and a bus stop at the bottom of our hill.
Our garden is big and a little bit wild. Lawns are mowed. Great garden for hanging out under a tree with a book or having a BBQ. We love our home and would like to share it with someone who can enjoy and respect it as their own. We have decent appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer) and fibre internet. House is heated by log fire, there is plenty of wood!

The vibe, people, cafes, beaches, sunshine when we have it. Near to beach and bush, only 10 minutes from centre of town, on bike trail around harbour.

Dog Rio, intense, loveable, bit needy, needs a firm hand. Loves swimming, bush walks, beach. Not a cafe dog. He's fine with long-ish periods of time at home on his own if walked, fed and toileted. Cat Alfonzo is unfriendly, requires feeding and left to do his thing. Chickens are a mix of garden ornaments and layers, they free range on the property and have feeders. Need food, water, eggs checking daily.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the homeowner needed to cancel on short notice. They were very communicative and apologetic about the cancellation. Overall they were very friendly and polite.
House-sitting for Luke and Lucy was great. A beautiful home with a beautiful view of the sea, and close to the city, cafes, and tourist spots. Rio, the dog, is an absolute sweetheart to look after and loves a good walk/swim. Luke and Lucy were super organised with instructions, spots to walk the dog, and a list of local recommendations for food, sights, etc. Great folks, great communication, great location. Thanks again!
