Our home

Hello. We have a gorgeous 30 acre block just out of Marton township, with lots of space, native bush, birdlife, and a swimming pool. Our home is really lovely and we are sure you will be very comfortable. It has five bedrooms, with lots of space to spread out and relax. There are lots of places to visit on our small farm, and a new addition of a replica DOC hut (although a very comfy version of one). The Tūtaenui Reserve is just across the road (with lots of walking/mountain biking tracks and fishing). Marton township is about a 10 mintute drive away, with shops and two supermarkets. favoriteWhat we love about our area

Our farm is surrounded by native bush and gardens. It's lovely and quiet (with the exception of the bird song in the morning, which is also lovely). You can wander around the farm, or head over to the awesome tracks at the Tūtaenui Reserve. Spend a night or two in our bush hut under the stars.

At the moment we have two older horses, about 27 chickens (always lovely fresh eggs), currently about 20 ewes (which will be all sorted, and you will just have to cast an eye over them and check the drinking water is ok), and our two German Shepherd dogs (Rex and Mika). I love all my animals and it's really important to us that they are well cared for. Rex is an older dog and is happy to mooch around and receive pats. Mika is our 15-month old girl, and loves to chase a ball! Being a youngster, she is more high energy, but has a really sweet nature. They are both happy on the farm and no walking outside of the farm is needed.

Rex (our 10-year old German Shepherd) is on tablets for his hips. This is easy - just put in his food at night.

I absolutely loved doing this house/farm sit. A real privilege to ‘keep the wheels turning’ during the owners absence. This countryside location is perfect, The stunning Tutaenui Reserve just down the road for recreation & town not far away. This lifestyle block is a beautiful piece of paradise among plots of natives with stunning bird life along with delightful & dearly loved pets & farm animals. Greg and Maree were wonderful to sit for. The house was large, warm and wonderful, communication was proactive and complete. The animals were all easy to care for as all food and supplies were well laid out. I could tell the horses and sheep were well looked after as they were all very friendly. Mika and Rex were always up for a walk around the property which was amazing. We would be happy to sit for them again any time.

We had such a wonderful time caring for Ribby Farm. The animals were a treat to care for and such a learning experience for my 10 year old. Maree was meticulous in her instructions and everything was laid out for us. The house was sooooo comfortable and the pool was inspected daily by my son. Thank you Maree for a wonderful opportunity. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️☕️

We had the most lovely time at the Ribby farm! It was honestly a pleasure to stay and care for the animals. Maree was so warm and welcoming, we instantly felt right at home and the instructions and organisation made it an extremely easy and enjoyable sit. Thank you for letting us experience Ribby farm and we'd love to come again. Would highly recommend! Thanks again x
This was a lovely housesit. Maree and Greg are thoughtful & generous hosts, the animals are all a delight, and the house is gorgeous - historic with many original features, while also being warm and comfortable - and with lots outside to explore. I'd happily housesit again and would recommend it to any future house-sitters wanting a rural escape with lots of characterful animals for company. Thanks for the stay!

Always love my little farm stays away and this time I even had a little lamb arrive during the end of my stay which was very cool and everything was well prepared incase it needed hand feeding (which it didn't in the end). Everything else for the animals during the bad weather were also well prepared and the wood was well stocked so I was kept very warm too. Thanks for letting me stay again as usual and will see you again soon :)

I have house sat for Maree and Greg multiple times now and always love it. It's very peaceful and quiet, the animals are lovely to look after and it's such a nice location to be in. I look forward to house sitting again very soon!

I had an amazing time staying at Maree and Greg's place and looking after the vast array of animals on the farm. Everyone is so welcoming, the animals are just lovely and the place is so peaceful and quiet. Between feeding and playing with all the animals and watering the garden when needed there's so much to keep you busy. Also the swimming pool is lovely during summer and the fireplace is amazing during winter (did a short pre stay during winter) I could not have asked for a better house sit. ...
