We are looking for a house and dog sitter while we are away for a week in Queenstown. We will be leaving home on Monday 17th August in the morning, ideally you would be able to arrive either the night before or by 9am that morning. House is in Huntington, Hamilton and it is warm and cosy with central aircon, Disney+, Netflix, wifi etc. Close to supermarkets, pubs and takeaways. You will be super comfortable in our home with the air con on and the guest bedroom as yours to use. The neighbourhood is quiet, but you will need to bring your own car to get around.

Both dogs are black female standard poodles. One who is 10, and the other is 1. Both are very affectionate and need to be exercised daily (or they will wake you up at night time!). They are not used to being left alone for long periods of time (5hrs max) so someone who works from home would be the dream!

You would be more than welcome to bring along your own pup if you would like.

Please reach out if you are interested,
Cheers,
Lydia

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Family home in a quiet cul-de-sac, a 15min drive into town or the base. There are pretty gully walks through the neighbourhood and we are very close to 2 supermarkets, plenty of takeaway places and a handful of neighbourhood pubs. Walking distance to several parks and 3 playgrounds.

Macy is a female standard poodle, she is 10 so is a senior and requires 1-2 strolls per day, She also loves a short game of fetch at the park.
Keeva is also a female standard poodle, she is a little younger at 1.5yr. Like all young she is a ball of energy and requires a lot of stimulation. She will likely take up most of your time and attention. Keeva in particular loves cuddles and snuggling.
On the whole they are pretty low maintenance. They can be left outside during the day, but preferably no longer than 4-5hrs on their own if possible. You will need to be in the house overnight.

Spent a wonderful time housesitting for Lydia, Tim, their two kids and two dogs! Really appreciated the comfort and flexibility they gave me so I could work around my plans. Their detailed instructions were also really helpful in helping me navigate each item I would likely be in contact with. If there's one thing I have learnt, it is this: when Keeva gets a little too much, you can always count on Macy πŸ˜‰
We were fortunate enough to look after Lydia and Tim's family home and their wonderful poodle dogs, Macy and Keeva. It was only for a few days but Macy and Keeva are very loving and well behaved dogs. Keeva is still quite young and doesn't always come when you call her as she is playful and curious. Her special game is called " keep away" esp with Macy's frisbee. Macy is excellent with fetching her frisbee. A 5 minute walk from the modern, clean and spacious house bring the dogs to a nearby ... So it was a delight to look after Macy and Keeva while staying in their home.

I looked after Lydia's two dogs while they we away for a couple of nights. They are a lovely young family and very easy to communicate with, Lydia left an information sheet with lots of info, so staying there was a breeze. Their home is modern, comfortable, great area, quiet and convenient. The dogs are so well behaved, friendly with people and other dogs. It's are easy to walk the two of them on the lead. Thank you For the opportunity to stay, Hope you had a good time catching up with family.
It was an absolute pleasure looking after two loveable poodles. The four month old puppy gave me the 'run-around' but was great fun. We all had a great time.

Lovely people with a very nice house in a quite area. I looked after their Dog Macy, She's a little honey and easy to look after. A comprehensive information sheet was available so I had all the info for a relaxing stay.
Lydia's dog was a delight to look after. She's friendly, well-behaved and playful. We had a great long weekend keeping her company. Lydia is great with communication and sorted everything we needed for her dog, and looking after her family home.
Really enjoyed housesitting for Lydia and her family, and looking after their well behaved Macy the poodle. Lovely house, and in a great area for restaurants, cafe's, shopping centre etc. Macy was great out on walks. I took her to the park a few times with her ball and frisbee. She stayed with me the whole time, even when there were other dogs and people in the park. Lovely housesit. Recommended. A++
