Our home

North-facing and extremely cosy, this place is my sanctuary! It's double-glazed and gets all day sun, so it can sometimes be too hot. The kitchen is only 5 years old so it's nice to bake/cook in, and I replaced the hot water cylinder when I moved in so the pressure is great. There's a small, very private courtyard on the northern side that I sunbathe in during summer, and Shugs like to explore this with me (she's an inside cat, and outside ONLY with direct supervision please!).

There's a bus stop 5 minutes walk away, and it's about 25 minutes to walk right into the centre of town. I have an off-street park which you're welcome to use, though if you have a long vehicle you'll need to park this on the street.

I don't have a TV but have plenty of really good books! The internet is fibre and unlimited so help yourself. There is a washing machine of course, but I don't have a dryer; there is a laundromat about a 10 minute walk from my house. Things dry very quickly in the washing line in the courtyard!

favoriteWhat we love about our area

My favourite café is Under The Red Veranda, which is about a 6 minute walk from my house. There's also the very-cool Peaches café (10 minutes), and on Saturdays from 10am I cannot recommend Butter Patisserie enough! But you might want to go early as there is often a long queue, but they're worth it!

Stella is a 10 year old cat who just loves to hang out around humans (honestly she isn't going to miss me at all!). Her hobbies are lying in the sun until she gets too hot, lying in the shade to cool down, chasing after dried flax bushes, and sleeping on my chest.

She is fed a main, wet meal in the evening, and I spread her other meals out throughout the day (if I'm around), or feed her dry food in the morning, scattering it around the house. She is really good at pretending she's starving but don't be fooled!

She's completely house trained and uses the litter tray in the toilet. I empty this once daily and mix the litter around twice daily. It's long-term litter so you won't need to change it, will just need to scoop any poops!
