Our home

We are on a lifestyle block near Te Horo beach and enjoy big open spaces, with amazing views of the sky. Our home is a cozy two-bedroom house, with open plan kitchen and living area. For those who enjoy the outdoors and keeping fit, we are close to local tracks for walking, running or biking. We have a small gym available on site too.

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Te Horo is very peaceful place. There are great cafes locally and access to walking/cycle tracks near by. We are less than 1km from the beach, and Ōtaki and Waikanae are each about a ten minute drive away. Both have supermarkets and all kinds of eateries. There is even a small cinema in Waikanae.

Our dog Ruby is fearful but responds well to patience and calm. She warmed up to our last house sitters and was very happy. She loves playing fetch and is crate trained. As Ruby can be nervous a meet and greet before the sit would be amazing.
We have three indoor cats, Lily, Mako and Hope. Lily is an older, more aloof personality. Mako is incredibly affectionate and Hope is a young kitten. We have a silkie rooster, Star, and three hens (Roxy, Mera, and Dott).

Minimal - Dad looks after the lawns and garden, but we have some plants that will need a water. We have a small vege garden, you are welcome to help yourself if they are ready.

About us

We are an active family and during this sit, we will be traveling overseas for Waka Ama racing. My parents will be on site in their own house. They are friendly and will be happy to help if needed.

We loved our time looking after Ruby, Lily, Mako and the chickens. They're beautiful animals with their own characters and personalities that really emerged in the week we were house sitting. We also enjoyed exploring the local area, with some hidden gems nearby and relatively easy access to the beach and Wellington. Thank you for having us!
