Our home

My husband Josh and I live just off Jackson Street in Petone Wellington in a 3 bed 2 bath home. The house has a fully fenced front and back yard. A very cosy home with lots of comforts like a coffee machine, big TV and Netflix and Disney Plus, a gas fire, big sunny deck in the backyard, extra comfy beds and a cosy lounge. We are 2 blocks from Petone beach and a 3 minute walk from a large recreation field. There is one off street car park and easy street parking.

We live in beautiful Petone, a relaxed seaside suburb just 15 minutes from Wellington. Our home is a short stroll to the beach, Jackson Street is around the corner, full of great cafes and restaurants, and there are plenty of beautiful nature walks nearby.

Our pets

Both dogs Bailey and Charlie are very friendly and pretty calm. They love company, cuddles and walks at the beach or a park nearby. Both dogs should receive at least one walk per day.

The dogs Charlie and Bailey are happy and chill, they get on well with each other and are well socialised with people and other dogs. Both go for pack walks during the week and are used to people coming to stay and visit. Charlie will be 4 and Bailey will be 9 at the time of the sit. They still enjoy long walks in the forest but are also happy to have a short walk and chill day snoozing at home.

Neither have any regular or major health concerns.

We’re Maddison, a Designer in government, and Josh, a Cabinet Maker. We love renovating our home, travelling, seeing family and friends, and spending time at home with our two big, beautiful dogs.

This was a awesome housesit made even better by great communication. Maddison and Josh’s home is lovely and was left spotless for us to enjoy. It’s just a stones throw away from the vibe of Petone, which we got to enjoy daily. Our new huge, big friends Bailey and Charlie were so much fun and great company, loved a good walk and a game of tug of war. We really appreciated that Maddison still had them go off on a pack-walk twice a week too. For a couple of big dogs they were no trouble at all, ... Maddison is an excellent communicator and I felt fully prepared for my first time of looking after Bailey. A comprehensive description of how Bailey normally behaves on walks, around food etc is always a great idea for a first time sitter. Bailey is a delightful dog, with a calm but curious nature. I really enjoyed his company, and our beach walks. I would recommend future house sitters have experience with larger dogs as you need a firm hand on the lead. Maddison's house is cozy and ... Had an amazing time with Bailey, he is a really easy and fun guy to hang out with. Took him out on a run and he responded really well on the leash even when there were rabbits that he wanted to chase with all his heart. Maddison was really easy to deal with, very thorough and organised. All in all a great experience
