Hurworth, New Plymouth

We have an 8 year old house that overlooks a big green area and native bush. Walking tracks next door. 10 minutes into town, and 15 minutes to coastal walkway. Great cafes and restaurants. New Plymouth has an Art Gallery, Len Lye centre, PukeAriki museum, the famous Ozone coffee roasters, vegan cafes and great summer festivals such as Bowl of Brooklands + Womad.
Our house has everything on the flat, lawns, flower gardens with extensive raised vege gardens and fruit trees. The rest of the section is steep with stairs to lower plantings which are chip mulched.
We have one very independent and friendly Birman. He likes food on tap and to be able to come and go as he likes during the day. (He is locked in laundry at night.) Though he is independent he is social and likes to check you are home a couple of times a day. He patrols a large area and will be around keeping an eye on our tui feeders.
We are looking for a sitter who will be happy to return on a regular basis (every month or so) and maybe do a longer winter house sit if things go well. To that end we would like a personal face to face interview before the housesit please.
