Requiring a sitter for a stand alone private sunny 2 bedroom home, retro theme, relaxed, backs onto bush, great neighbourhood, non smoking inside, quiet and friendly with a fire and wifi, well kitted kitchen and plenty of cosy areas to do your thing.
5 minute walk to town, dairy on the corner, safe, overlooks the walking/biking tracks and marina.
Perkins is an 18 month old red Australian cattle dog, not a couch potato, he needs an am and pm walk and there's plenty of places to choose from. He'll run by the bike, he's good on lead and loves the water. Quite the snuggle bug and doesn't bark even with someone at the door. He's a working breed and has some attitude, nothing brazen, a fun character. Will fetch and return his ball or a stick. Good with dogs as long as they aren't in his face. Sits, waits, etc.
The garden will be resting over winter so nothing to do there except compost your food scraps, I don't think even mowing will be needed.
There's 9 chickens, they're fairly self sufficient but will need a top up of water and pellets and their eggs collected, newspaper changed where their droppings collect, they're free range all day up the back and locked in their hutch at night. They like a chat and a yarn if you're inclined. Perkins will tell if they're out which happens occasionally and they usually want some greens which will be in the garden.
I don't want other pets here, this is Perkins' home and it'll be a big enough change to have us gone and new people here let alone another animal. Cats won't survive with him so that's a definite no.
Ideal for an active calm couple. Preference for people who have had dogs and will do the exercise with him.
If you have a full manual licence there may be a ute to use.
Whoever stays must commit to the duration and would need to be here a few days prior to settle in with Perkins and do a few walks. If you need to arrive earlier we can accommodate.
We do ask for $50 per week to cover firewood.
