Would you like a break in the country, at a semi-rural but not remote location? We have a small lifestyle block (0.65 ha) in a village in Central Hawke's Bay, population approximately 220. It's a quiet place, comprising mainly small blocks of land, and a local pub, which is quite a popular gathering place for coffee and cake during the daytime! The village is approximately 40 minutes' drive to the city of Hastings, and 20 minutes to the towns of Waipawa and Waipukurau, where there is a small shopping centre. There are quite a few walkways in the region, and keen trampers may enjoy various tracks in the nearby Ruahine ranges, approximately half an hour's drive away.

At this point of time, we have a cat and a dog to care for. The cat is getting on a bit in years, but has no health issues and is a friendly wee thing. The dog, a Labrador, is 10 years old, so is getting on a bit too, but is very friendly and rather bouncy. You would need to be happy to look after a dog who is generally well behaved, but a bit slobbery, and a little too enthusiastic about everything.

We would prefer an older couple or single person (30s +) to house sit for us. It would be great to find someone reasonably local, who may be able to house sit at later dates too. If you are interested and have any questions at all do get in touch.
