Hi everyone, I am looking for a Farm Sitter to look after my 75acre property in the outskirts of the beautiful Matamata, while I’m overseas.

The perfect person(s) would be experienced with farming, cattle and horses. Are confident dealing with dogs and be able to wrangle the odd token goat if needed.

Daily checking on and feeding out of the cattle and horses (via tractor and a farm vehicle) will be required along with paddock changes as needed (they won’t be behind a break fence). This normally takes me 30-60 mins a day and I’m happy to negotiate remuneration for this!
Handling of the cattle and horses will only be on an as needed basis ie, emergencies or first aid/vets needed, with good handling facilities (stables/cattle yards).

The 4 bedroom/2 bathroom brick house will be available for you, with Starlink wifi & heat pump.

The dog is named Terra and is a 15kg 1.5 year old spayed female, who loves everyone! Since she is young she does have energy to burn, so she is often taken out on the farm to run and run, to chase rabbits and to have a swim in a pond or river on the property. She loves to crash on the couch next to you while you watch TV and sleep on her (my!) bed. She will be your best mate.

If you find yourself bored and looking to do some gardening/farm work, that is also an option.
The farm is located between Matamata and Morrinsville, close to the Kaimai ranges and Wairere Falls, within easy day drives to the east and west coasts, to Auckland and Taupo for adventures off farm.
