Wellington - Kapiti Coast
Emma
We live in Ōtaki, close to the library, supermarket and shops. Ōtaki is a small, friendly, coastal town with a great beach and access to the Tararua Forest Park. There are local cafes and outlet shops, the Māoriland centre for Māori Film and Creative Arts and Te Wānanga o Raukawa university. It's a 10-20 minute drive to the larger towns on either side, and a one hour drive or train ride to Wellington. Our house has two bedrooms. It's heated by a wood fire (there'll be plenty of firewood for you to use), there is also a small electric heater. We don't have a tv but there is wifi and we have plenty of books and boardgames. We have one dog, a two year old border collie x, who likes a walk each day. She loves people and plays with dogs her size, not cats or very small dogs. We don't usually leave her home alone for more than a few hours, although she can be left for up to six hours, she's used to having some company during the day. We walk her at the river or the beach, both are a short drive away, or around the streets. We also have two chickens, who need a top up of food and water every few days and their eggs collecting when they are laying.
