Hi there and thanks for checking out our ad.
NOTE - PLEASE READ...Thanks to everyone who has contacted us so far, you all seem great BUT...as per the ad details we are really hoping to find a person/couple where at least one person is available at our home for the majority of each day. I'm happy to answer any questions about this if needed. Thanks in advance and enjoy the ad...
We are looking for an awesome house sitter/couple and animal lover who doesn't mind some basic house plant care and possible lawn mowing.
We are heading overseas in October so we're starting the search for someone to house sit for us now to give us the best chance of finding the perfect person/people.
We have a 3 bedroom house with everything (we hope) that a house/pet sitter will need. It's a secure, private home with a good section and very tropical garden. All of the living spaces are open plan and the bedrooms are nice and quiet. The house has a dishwasher, oven, microwave, nespresso coffee machine; large TV, fibre broadband, HRV, Weber Q BBQ, and plenty of other bits and pieces. There is secure off street parking for a couple of cars without any issue.
So, our animals...
We have a very furry and friendly 4 year old dog who is probably the primary concern for us as we've only ever left him with someone else for a couple of nights at a time. He is a border collie/bearded collie cross, super affectionate and annoyingly smart...he can literally tell the time so will always know when it's time to eat, go for a walk, play or go to sleep so someone happy with the same/similar daily routine from a dog care perspective would be perfect.
I want to be clear this dog is awesome but needs affection and play time in equal measure. If you consider yourself a dog lover you will really fall for this one...
The dog is absolutely people oriented and generally has little interest in playing or interacting with other dogs. He is on lead for walks around streets but is fine off lead at the park, beach etc and will return when called without any issue.
Currently one of us is at home through the week so he is used to having someone at home throughout the day, although he can be left for 3 hours or so without any issues. Having someone around for the dog most of the time is a non-negotiable for us.
He is great in a vehicle, no car sickness or excessive barking, and will even help you choose the right music for your journey!
We also have a low maintenance 19 year old cat and even lower maintenance chickens who will keep you supplied with fresh eggs.
Finally we have an aviary and pond that will need some food and water throwing in every 2-3 days (water is for the aviary only - the goldfish don't drink that much really!!).
If you're keen to know more so that you can consider whether this is a house sitting opportunity you could be interested in then message me with your questions and I'll get back to you ASAP
Thanks for considering this. Andrew
