Kia ora,

we are Daniel and Rachel, two Americans who have both recently finished our PhDs at Otago. We've been living in Dunedin for a while and are making the move up to Wellington this year. We're looking for house sitting opportunities before we settle in on a more permanent location in Wellington. We are both extremely tidy and respectful and will take excellent care of your house (and pets!). We also have previous house sitting experience through Pawshake.

A little bit about us:

We've been together for 9 years, traveling all over the world. We're big on playing sport, working out, scuba diving, socialising, etc. Daniel enjoys reading and games while Rachel enjoys hanging out with pets (dogs and cats) and cooking.

Daniel was fantastic with our pets, including our dog, cat and chickens, and looked after them beautifully. He gave us regular updates and communication was really easy. The house was clean and tidy when we got home. A very helpful and reliable house-sitter; thanks Daniel!

The house wasn't left as it had been found, used items weren't put back or cleaned properly (eg food all over the microwave door and toothpaste smears on the bathroom mirror). There were surface scratches all over our new dining table, the power/hot water/gas use was incredibly high, the security lights were turned off from inside a strorage room that wasnt given access to, the cameras covering the entranceway showed our normally friendly cats running away from these individuals several times, ... We’ve house sat for friends, family and via sites for years. This is our 1st bad review. We lived in the house as normal for 3 days, ate meals/used laptops at table, showered 1/day, brushed teeth in bathroom, etc. We left thermostat per Jo’s recommendation.
