Hi there, we are Wendy and Carl, a retired, non smoking, ex pat Aussie couple who have finally made the permanent move to New Zealand. We have been housesitting now for about 9 years and would appreciate you giving us the opportunity to look after your home and animal family whilst you enjoy some time away. We have been coming across to N.Z. every year to be near family but have decided that this will be our forever home now.

We are both extremely fit and healthy and enjoy the great outdoors. Carl trains for Triathlons and I play a lot of tennis, pickleball, do quite a bit of long distance walking & enjoy paddling my kayak when I get a chance. I also have a genuine love of volunteering and try to give as much time as possible to this pursuit & am already involved with a couple of organisations. I have many years experience in the horticultural industry & am a passionate gardener whilst Carl is pretty handy with most jobs around the house

When in Australia we lived in our own home & are well aware of the anxiety involved in allowing strangers into your home as we have experienced this ourselves. We expected our "tenants" to treat our home with respect and our priority is to do the same for you, showing our appreciation for the opportunity you have given us to stay in your home.

We no longer have any pets of our own but would very much welcome the opportunity to take care of yours if you think you would be comfortable leaving them with us. We have looked after many different breeds of dogs (the largest being 68kg), cats, chickens, fish & horses. Please be assured that we will do whatever it takes to keep your furry family as safe & as happy & as loved as we possibly can.

We have a very organised approach to housesitting to ensure that we meet all of your requirements so that you are able to enjoy your time away. We are happy to stay in contact by whatever means is convenient for us all and we will send you regular updates so you can feel at ease. We are also happy to Skype/Zoom at any time and also to make initial contact with you.

You will return to find your home and animals have been lovingly and respectfully looked after to a very high standard as this is how we would look after our own home.

Please give us the opportunity to tend "your place"....you have our assurance that you will be glad you did...we believe that the attached references are testament to the way we repay our home owners for the trust & faith they put in us, when allowing us into their homes...thankyou for taking the time to read this epistle.

Wendy and Carl were impeccable housesitters whom we would highly recommend and definitely have again. We returned after a week away to find a very tidy and clean house and pets who didn't seem to have noticed we had been away. They took a particular interest in our dog who adored them in return and benefitted from her walks with them. Communication was very quick and easy. They are the housesitters everyone desires. Wendy and Carl completed one month's house/cat sit recently in the Arrowtown area. On our return we were delighted to find the house in perfect order and our cat very settled and happy. Even our neighbours commended on how settled our cat was during our absence. Wendy kindly stocked our fridge with essentials and a ready-prepared meal for our first night home. We had Wendy and Carl house sit our very loved 14 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback Zuri and 2 cats when we went away for 6 weeks. We live on a lifestyle block. I cannot speak highly enough of them. They came and stayed the night before we left and straight away they bonded with Zuri. She was so well cared for, walked twice a day and generally had fun. Wendy and Carl took care of our home and animals for 2 weeks this April. We were very satisfied with the job they did while were away and our dog Ruby was well loved and cared for while we were gone. My lawns were mowed, and the house was spotless when we arrived home. Would recommend them to look after your home and animals. Thanks Wendy and Carl!

I think we were all a bit nervous of how our "special needs" rescue dog would be for Wendy & Carl. They were very understanding of his needs & he was a very happy boy to return home too. Wendy and Carl were fantastic, they took such wonderful care of our home and our fur/feathered family while we were away for three weeks. We came home to happy, healthy pets and a lovely clean house. Wendy had even made a delicious lasagna and salad for our dinner which after a long haul flight was so much appreciated. We went away for a week and left our home, dog and cat (actually plus chickens) in their care. Our pets loved them both and we came home to a lovely tidy and happy home. I will be asking them back!!

The animals were happy and the house was cleaner than when we left! They are both very kind and caring people who genuinely care about what they are looking after.
