Hi!
I have been housesitting in The Netherlands for many years and was always invited back. I own a house back in The Netherlands so I know how important it is that people treat your house, neighbors and pets with care and respect. I just loooove animals and all my friends dogs and cats absolutely love me!
I am looking for a long term stay somewhere around Auckland for the months of May and June, and around Whangarei the months after that so I can connect with the community in a more profound way, as well as with the animals i am taking care off. I will be working for a big Solar energy cooperation 5 days a week, for about 7 hours a day. I strongly believe in the need for a cleaner and more sustainable future without carbon output.
I am a responsible and tidy guy and like house/garden chores, so I will leave your home impeccable and will make sure your pet will have a great time :) I've done quite a lot of housesits in NZ now and if you read my references you will see they were all very satisfying for all parties. Erik is a fantastic housesitter, I would highly recommend him.
He looked after our two cats and small home for four weeks. He's really easy to deal with and his communication was great. We were happy seeing pics and videos and knowing the cats were being really well looked after - he genuinely cares. We came back to a clean and tidy home.

ERIK IS THE BEST HOUSESITTER WE'VE EVER HAD, and we've had many! This guy is like a genuine cat- whisperer because our very unsocial cat was very relaxed around him and that never happened before! He also left our house absolutely spotless: it was like stepping into a fancy hotel. Everything was so clean and tidy! Erik looked after my home, cat, garden and pool for one month during February. He did a fantastic job - my cat fell in love with him!
He communicated regularly with me, sending me photos of my cat, the work he did in my garden, and didn't hesitate to check things with me if he had any concerns. I felt very confident that he was looking after everything while I was away.

Erik took care of our home and our 2 cats for 4 weeks in August 2021. It was an absolute pleasure to have Erik housesit for us. He took such excellent care of and became firm friends with our cats during his time here. He sent us lots of pictures to keep us updated. Communication was always easy. Our one cat has gastro-intestinal issues and he took this in his stride and took very good care of him. I can wholeheartedly recommend Erik to look after your house and your furry friends.
I could not recommend Erik highly enough. He was so caring and great with our pets, even though Jax our dog ate his bed and left a huge pile of fluff for him, sorry Erik!!!!
Erik kept in touch with us and let us know how the animals were and I felt that they were left in great hands. I'm also a clean freak and Erik left our home absolutely spotless.

Erik was a fantastic house/pet sitter. We were fortunate to have Erik look after our cat Paddy at very short notice and his communication was great. Erik is friendly, respectful and left our house spotless. He sent us photos of Paddy looking very relaxed and happy, he was left in very good hands. I would recommend Erik to anyone. We were lucky enough to have Erik sit for us in late October 2020. He did a wonderful job looking after our house and our cat. We got near daily updates from him which was nice. Although we didn't see him at the end as he had to leave a few hours before we arrived, he left the place immaculate. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Erik for anyone needing a reliable house sitter.
Eric was an amazing dog person. He talked to them and walked them two or three times daily. The dogs took to him immediately and Eric emailed their activities to put my mind at rest.
He was polite and helpful at all times and even cooked a welcome home meal for us.
We would not hesitate to recommend him for house sitting .
