Easy-going, reliable sitter

27, M.A. Student

I'm in the final semester of my Master’s programme and keen to get out of the city centre and enjoy other areas of Auckland and the North Island. I enjoy being around animals and the positive impact they have on my daily life and routines. I regularly cared for the pets of friends and family in the U.S., and I'm missing my own 13 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russell deeply (he's staying with his grandparents while I'm away). I have 10+ years experience in house/pet sitting in the United States and would be honored to care for your home. As a loving pet owner myself, I understand how important (and stressful!) it is to find someone you trust to care for your animal relatives while you're away.

As a reliable house sitter, I have experience with dogs from their time as puppies all the way up to seniors. Outside of my own fur baby, I regularly cared for two young Blue Heelers with an intense training schedule, an adult Chocolate Lab (she's more like a small bear), a cat named Nubbs, and a spunky rabbit. I also regularly cared for two small Yorkshire Terriers. I maintained Goose's (puppy) behavioral and potty training schedule and administered Molly's (senior) daily medications. I also cared for three horses, two Australian cattle dogs, and two adult cats for my neighbors in the U.S.

I am a Master of Arts student who traveled to New Zealand on a Fulbright Fellowship in 2023. I'm completing my postgraduate degree in Museums and Cultural Heritage, and will submit my thesis for review in May. I also work remotely for Ngati Whatua Orakei and live a flexible lifestyle. I hope mentioning my studies and work life will show me to be responsible, trustworthy, and reliable!

Beyond my work, I enjoy weaving, sewing, and creating beadwork. I love a warm cup of coffee or tea (or an occasional glass of white wine) and don't fuss too much with going out or having guests over. My ideal roommate is a cat, dog, or other sweet companion that I can enjoy quality time with. I miss taking my own Chihuahua on his morning and evening walks, and look forward to getting back into that routine. I practice yoga in the morning, pilates in the evening, and enjoy preparing a home-cooked meal. I'm tidy, easy-going, and energetic. I'm also a non-smoker. While I'm open to almost anywhere on the North Island, I do not have a vehicle and prefer locations I can reasonably travel to via bus or train.

Please message me with any questions. :)
