Caring and patience

24, Illustrator

Hi there, I'm a female from China, I used to be an art teacher, I still create now. I very enjoy the mutual companionship and love with pets, as well as each different home, this is a connection for me to experience life in Nz, I gained a lot from the house sitting I did!

Me and pets: I grew up in a mountain village, raised chickens, herded cows, and took care of cats, rabbits and dogs for my friends. Because I was on the road a lot, I couldn’t adopt my own pets. But on the road, I was lucky to met many lovely pets, it is a pleasure to get along with them, the companionship and love they give is selfless! At the same time, I also want to give them sincere love and care!

More about me: I came to NZ in mid-April last year, time flies It's been a year, and I'm currently planning to stay until at least mid-October or longer. Because I gradually found that I really like life here, I now have a part-time job but have enough time at home and company with pets. Btw, I have a car and I have good living habits and I’m caring, tidy, respectful and communicative.

I used to be an art teacher for the past three years and illustrator, but one day, I found that my art teacher's work and life have not changed much, I haven't created illustrations for a long time, I travel every year in many different ways and plan to make some changes, to find what things I really want to do, and things I can do.

I came to NZ for the first month as a wwoofer because I wanted to feel the power of a different way of life. I was lucky to meet a lady who I do some gardening and look after Sandy ( her dog) in exchange for accommodation and food, she took me to exhibitions and concerts and let me walk into her life, inspired me to start painting again. So my first painting in NZ is about her, "There's always a way to the beach", if you're interested in learning more I can send you the link to my wwoof profile.

In my second month in NZ, I worked for an herbal company and learned some about herbs which gave me a different experience.

During my third to eleven month in NZ, I painted a lot of paintings and made many friends who love art. During this period, I made some house sitting jobs in many areas of Auckland, I get a lot of love from pets and I love them so much!

Those wonderful memories with pets in NZ : Nigel loves food but loves kissing after getting to know him well. Lennie is a poor cat, but I think he also met happiness after being adopted by a loving host. Sky is an indoor cat who has opened up all of himself to me, the love he showed infected me, and I had a deeper feeling to love pet even more!

Thank you so much for your patience in reading and considering! Hope I may have the opportunity to meet your loving pets and home❤️

Xyla was very sweet, and respectful and cared for our fur babies while we were away. She kept us updated with videos and pictures and communication was great. We felt very comfortable with Xyla staying at our place, the place was kept tidy and knew our cats were in good hands. Highly recommend Xyla!

ALYSSA (Otahuhu North Island, Feb 2024 - 2 weeks 1 night)
It’s a pleasure to have Xyla housesit for us over our holiday. The cats and house were all well looked after and she kept in touch with us throughout the stay with weekly updates.

MICHELLE (Burswood North Island, Jan 2024 - 4 weeks)
Xyla was very good with our pet cat Julian, and we received regular updates on his antics (or lack there of) during our honeymoon. He's never become so friendly with a stranger so quickly! Even though English is her second language, we were happy with the communication level. Minimal power was used over the time period and the house was clean and well presented when we returned. We were even left a lovely painting as a thankyou gift! We only wish we could have said thanks and goodbye ... MORE

Xyla was great for our Sky, so gentle and patient w our wee boy, he can be a shy cat but not w her. He opened up like I have never seen before, for her. So much that when we were back he “stranged“ us kkkkkkkkkkkk She was very responsive and responsible, and updated us as often as we asked her for! She was also very nice w our little son while she stayed w us before we go, and that made me trust her even more ❤️ We recommend her as a pet sitter, thanks Xyla! 🙌

FLAVIA (Ellerslie North Island, Sep 2023 - 1 month 1 week)
Xyla looked after my flat and old cat for three weeks during August-September, I found her to be a most fantastic house + cat sitter. I believe Xyla is very positive, thoughtful, and resourceful . Lennie-the-cat is a recent rescue with some needy behaviours! He's also not so well and prone to vomiting :( so others were not so keen to mind him! Nothing is too much of a problem for Xyla, During the time I was away she kept in touch, made some lovely small improvements to my living space ... MORE

SARAH (Devonport North Island, Aug 2023 - 3 weeks)
It was a pleasure having Xyla house sit. She did an amazing job looking after the house, pot plants, and the cat; even as going as far as creating a feeding schedule for him to ensure healthy eating. I observed Xyla and Nigel the cat bond in a beautiful way, she is a very loving, kind and organised person and also an amazing artist. Without hesitation I would recommend Xyla.
