We are a semi retired couple and want to do house sitting in order to get to know and explore different parts of the country.
We live in Opua, Bay of Islands and own and live in our own house. We are very fastidious about cleaning and keeping things nice and tidy.
We also do a bit of sailing in the Bay of Islands and I work sometimes as a self employed sailing instructor.
I am a retired physical education teacher and my wife has worked many years as a self employed gardener.
I grew up in Germany and have been in New Zealand since 1985. Janet grew up on a dairy farm in the Kaipara District.
We are both NZ citizens and have been married for 35 years and have owned dogs and cats.
We enjoy cycling, walking, and hiking.

Bernie & Janet looked after my dog Scratch beautifully. They kept me up to date with photos and messages and made sure to check in about whether they could offer an additional treat which was greatly appreciated. Their communication from the start was great - they probably had to chase me more than the other way around! And the house was beautifully clean and tidy when I returned. They'd even done the laundry and remade the bed. Amazing.

Bernie and Janet travelled such a long way to sit our home and dogs. We have no hesitation at all in referring them to others needing sitters. They are very respectful people, immaculate in the home and great communicators. Molly and Bob were cared for very well, and loved their beach walks. If you choose them you won’t regret it.
