28, Hostel Housekeeper
Kia Ora!
I’m Andy, a 28 year old chap hailing from Liverpool, England. I’m at my happiest in nature - hiking, running, cycling, and swimming are all my idea of a perfect day, and I’ve been known to occasionally combine these pleasures in triathlon events! I’m a firm believer in sharing good food with great company, regularly baking bread and cakes, and I love experimenting with new vegetarian recipes.
Whilst staying in Wellington, I’ve been volunteering each week at a cat shelter, which has been a lovely chance to give some attention & love to the old-timers and brief visitors in the shelter! The opportunity to get some local insight into beautiful Aotearoa and share the company of a pet is a huge driver for my decision to join Kiwi House Sitters.
I’ve previously demonstrated myself as a trustworthy and dependable pet-sitter, providing peace of mind that my friends’ home and cheeky British Shorthair cat were being well looked after when they’ve enjoyed some relaxing time away.
I’ve often cared for a gorgeous but sometimes difficult Bichon Frise called Toby, who has a tendency to over-groom himself and give himself sores. Judging when to gently intervene, and following up with plenty of empathy and fuss helps to calm things back down - my intention is to always give pets the attention, comfort, and care that I’d give to my own.
I’ve spent the past year working in a Youth Hostel in a beautiful area of the UK, and am particularly skilled in general housekeeping as a result. I’m a tidy and conscientious person, so you can be reassured that your home and beloved pets are in safe hands with me! I look forward to getting to know you and your pets 🐾

I asked my last house/pet sits to write a couple of bits about how it went:
“I cannot recommend Andy highly enough for anyone seeking a reliable and caring pet sitter. My partner, Holly and I had to leave town for a week and were worried about leaving our cat, Bee, behind.
Andy went above and beyond in looking after Bee. He not only made sure Bee was fed and had fresh water, but he also took the time to play with her and give her the attention she craves. It was clear that Andy genuinely cares for animals and has a natural way of making them feel comfortable and loved.
Not only did Andy attend to Bees' basic needs, but he also took the initiative to send us daily updates and photos, giving us peace of mind while we were away. It was wonderful to see Bee looking so content and happy in the photos, and it made our trip much more enjoyable knowing that she was in such capable hands.
I would not hesitate to entrust Bee to Andy's care again in the future, and I am grateful to have found such a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. If you are looking for someone who will treat your pet with the same love and attention as you do, Andy is the perfect choice.”
