Katelyn & Nate

Hello! We are the Kirnies. We love to travel and connect with animals and nature! We are from the US and will be taking a family gap year to travel abroad. We are looking for house sits in New Zealand Nov. - Dec. 2024. We have 5 star reviews pet sitting through Trusted House Sitters but are new to Kiwi House Sitters.

Kate is a creative guide who spent many years working in the public art field. She is now a certified forest therapy guide and enjoys sharing the holistic health benefits of being immersed in nature with as many people as she can. Nate works remotely as a Senior Sales Director for a carbon accounting company. We are both passionate about the environment and sharing how important the human + nature connection is with others, especially our girls, Emaline & Marielle.

Nate and Kate both grew up with cats and dogs and we were excited to bring our first pet Monty, a Springer Doodle home when our girls were old enough to help us take care of a new family member.

The girls, ages 9 & 10 love to travel as much as we do and they both have a natural gentleness and care with animals. They've helped us raise ducks and rabbits on our property and care for dogs in our home.

Kate has always had a deep love and connection to animals. She rode and cared for horses at camp growing up and worked at a vet in college caring for the cats and dogs boarding there. Nate grew up with cats and hunting dogs, English Setters.

You will find our family to be responsible and tidy. We will care for your home with respect and tend to everything as if it were our own.
