We are a retired active couple who love to travel and explore. We are animal lovers and have solid experience caring for a variety of pets and farm animals.

House sitting is a win-win as we will provide peace of mind for the owner in terms of their pets, their home, and their gardens while we get to enjoy their treasured pets and experience new surroundings like a holiday..

We are quiet, respectful, and house-proud people who enjoy keeping active and living a healthy lifestyle. Although we do not currently have pets of our own, we are genuine animal lovers and enjoy every opportunity to spend time with animals.

Our Background

Vicky has worked in sales and management roles for well-known companies including Farmers, Chanel, and Shiseido.

Steve enjoyed a distinguished 33-year career with New Zealand Police, retiring as a Detective Inspector. In 2012, we spent four years living in Canberra, Australia, where Steve was seconded to the New Zealand High Commission. During this time, Vicky worked as a manager for Chanel within David Jones Department Store.

In 2016, we moved to Dunedin, where Steve took up the position of Crime Manager for the Southern District.

In 2019, Steve was posted to Bangkok, Thailand, where he spent four years working at the New Zealand Embassy. Following his retirement from New Zealand Police, we embraced a lifestyle that allows us to spend part of the year travelling overseas while our home is rented out.

Our Home Life

We built our dream home in Dunedin in 2021 while living overseas. Perched above the South Pacific Ocean, it was thoughtfully designed to accommodate family and friends, with separate living areas that allow guests to enjoy their own space.

More recently, we successfully operated the property as an Airbnb, receiving excellent feedback from guests who appreciated the high standard of presentation and cleanliness.

We take great pride in maintaining our home ourselves. Living by the ocean means regular upkeep, including cleaning windows and outdoor areas exposed to the sea air, and we are both meticulous when it comes to caring for a property.

Steve has also previously owned a home with a swimming pool in Palmerston North and is experienced in pool maintenance and management.

As homeowners ourselves, we understand how important it is to have trustworthy, reliable people caring for your home and beloved pets. We will treat your property, animals, and possessions with the same care, respect, and attention that we would expect for our own.

We both absolutely love animals. Sadly, our current lifestyle involves frequent travel, and we feel it would not be fair to have pets of our own at this stage. Fortunately, our families have plenty of beloved pets that we enjoy spoiling with attention, cuddles, and care whenever we can.

Steve was raised on a farm and has owned dogs and various farm animals throughout his life, including his much-loved dog, Jack.

I have owned both dogs and cats, including a beautiful Samoyed named Kuros and a Birman cat named Coco, who was a treasured companion for many years.
