We love caring for animals while experiencing places in a more meaningful way than traditional travel. House sitting suits us perfectly because we enjoy quiet routines, spending time at home, long walks, and giving pets plenty of company and attention. It’s rewarding to help owners relax while away.

We’re Michael and Agnieszka, a British couple spending 6 months in New Zealand over summer 2026/27.

We are reliable, home-based, and enjoy a calm, outdoors-focused lifestyle and naturally build our days around being at home and out walking.

Agnieszka recently retired from a UK university, and Michael runs his own business remotely, so we’re around for most of the day and able to give pets consistent company, attention, and routine.

That includes keeping everything clean and organised, managing day-to-day upkeep, and ensuring the home is secure and well cared for throughout.

We both grew up with dogs and cats, and over the years have regularly cared for pets for friends and neighbours—feeding, walking, and sticking closely to established routines. We’re comfortable with the practical side of pet care and attentive to any changes in behaviour or wellbeing. We’re also happy administering medication if required.

Agnieszka has completed a Pet First Aid and CPR Certification course through careskillstraining.org.

He has been a guest in our home many times and is always impeccably neat and tidy and considerate. He gets on with all of our pets (2x Leonbergers, Jack Russell and cat). They love him and he doesn’t mind being harassed in to pats, cuddles etc. and he doesn’t mind the fluff either. We would have no hesitation leaving our home and pets in the care of Michael and Agnieszka - they are lovely people who will look after anyone’s home and pets as if they were their own.

Ben: My friendship with Michael started over three decades ago, and I’ve known Agnieszka for the last five.
I’ve also worked with Michael professionally, which has given me a clear sense of how he operates when responsibility matters. What stands out is his consistency—he does what he says he’ll do, and does it properly. He’s methodical, dependable, and pays close attention to detail. Together, he and Agnieszka make a steady, grounded pair.
They’re level-headed, practical, and approach things in a sensible, no-fuss way. I would have complete confidence trusting them with a home or pets and everything that comes with it.
