House sitting allows us to combine our love of animals with exploring new places. As renters we can’t currently have pets of our own, so we love caring for others’ animals while giving them companionship, attention and routine while their owners are away.

We’re both huge animal lovers and grew up with pets, but as renters we aren’t currently able to have animals of our own. House sitting gives us the opportunity to spend time with wonderful animals while also helping homeowners feel at ease knowing their pets and home are being well cared for.

We’re very respectful, tidy and mindful people who treat every home as if it were our own. We understand how important routine, attention and affection are for pets, and we’re happy to follow any care instructions closely.

We love quiet time at home, walks, nature, surfing, skating and exploring new areas, so caring for pets and homes fits naturally into our lifestyle.

Pet care

I have looked after several pets while house sitting in Wellington, with the longest sit being three weeks. During that time I cared for a variety of animals including a 17-year-old cat, a Labrador, and a Boxer, so I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes, and needs.

During that time I cared for a variety of animals including a 17-year-old cat, a Labrador, and a Boxer, so I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, sizes, and needs.

I also grew up surrounded by animals. Our family had two small dogs (a Shih Tzu/Bichon mix), multiple cats, birds, bunnies, and even turtles, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. We also rescued a litter of kittens (5) and raised them

Because of this background, I’m very attentive to pets’ routines, personalities, and comfort. I understand how important consistency, affection, and patience are for animals while their owners are away, and I always aim to make them feel safe and cared for.

Our flexible work allows us to travel and house sit regularly throughout the year. We enjoy longer stays (2 weeks +) where we can settle in and give pets consistent care, but we’re open to different locations and timeframes.

Hannah and Brittany were perfect for this house/pet sit. Our dog is a large and lively mixed breed who craves attention and needs lots of exercise, so the frequent outings and constant company worked well. the house was lovely and clean when we returned and their frequent communication gave us reassurance on our 6 week trip to Europe. Would definitely recommend.
Our old Bodercollie Bilbo was well looked after and happy, Communication was great, and Brittany and Hannah sent us almost daily updates and photos.
