We are Kiarla and David, a stable couple of travelers from Chile on a Working Holiday. We have been together for over 5 years, and this is our first big international adventure! Animals are our true passion; both of us have grown up surrounded by pets since we can basically remember, so giving them love, patience, and dedicated care comes naturally to us.

We are Kiarla and David, a stable couple of travelers from Chile on a Working Holiday. We have been together for over 5 years, and this is our first big international adventure! Animals are our true passion; both of us have grown up surrounded by pets since we can basically remember, so giving them love, patience, and dedicated care comes naturally to us. 
Together as a team, we have lovingly cared for 12 pets in total (both dogs and cats), gaining extensive experience with different breeds, ages, and special needs. We perfectly understand how essential it is to follow your pet's routine to the letter, and we are both fully prepared to provide hands-on, responsible care. 
Our Hands-On Experience Includes:
Dogs of All Ages & Needs: Experienced in managing sweet senior dogs (like Kiarla's beloved 18-year-old Canela). We are completely comfortable with patience-required tasks like changing diapers, diaper hygiene, bathing, and grooming. We also adapt to all energy levels, from playful puppies to calm dogs who love quiet mini-treks. 
Deep Experience with Cats: Cats hold a huge place in our hearts. We have cared for 4 different cats of various ages, including multi-cat homes. Kiarla actually grew up with a beloved cat that lived to be 15 years old and suffered from heart and kidney conditions. Because of this, we are highly competent and gentle when administering medications and handling strict prescription diets for cats. 
Other Animals: We are also experienced and comfortable caring for rabbits and chickens. 
Our Promise to You
As travelers, leaving our hearts behind is tough. We have an 11-year-old Bichon Frisé named Copo who is currently back home in Chile being absolutely pampered and loved by Kiarla's parents. Missing him so much makes us understand firsthand how vital it is to find the right people to care for your furry family members. 
Whether your pets need intense exercise, medication, special grooming, or just someone to flood them with love and patience on the couch, we will adapt completely to them. We will look after your pets and your home with the utmost responsibility and commitment!

Together, we have cared for Lili (an orange cat), a large dog in southern Chile, and Maui, a high-energy Border Collie in Tauranga. In Wellington, we completed housesits with excellent reviews, caring for Coby (a peaceful dog) and two cats, Little Ted and Polly (who had a heart condition). Additionally, David raised his two beloved dogs: one who lived to a sweet 19 years old, and another who required dedicated medical care for a chronic illness. We are highly experienced in following precise diets, administering medications, routines, and handling different animal personalities with deep love, patience, and responsibility.

David lived on a farm for a couple of months where he was solely responsible for managing 40 cows, and he also has experience caring for turtles. In Te Puke, we looked after three independent chickens—keeping their coop clean, collecting eggs, and feeding the youngest separately so the older ones wouldn't bully her. We also cared for Muffin the rabbit, keeping his hutch spotless and supervising his indoor time closely so he wouldn't chew cables or get stuck.

We are flexible to housesit anywhere in NZ accessible by public transport (bus, train, or plane), as we don't drive. We look for stays of 4+ nights where we can settle in, explore the area, and dedicate quality time to caring for your pets and home!

Lovely couple who took great care of Coby.
David and Kiarla looked after our cats very well and we came home to a lovely clean and tidy house. They are not strong English speakers but we got around that perfectly well with google translate. It was difficult for them because our home is in the market and they needed to keep it tidy at all times. I would recommend David and Kiarla as Housesitters.
