Hello & kia ora! We’re Shane & Lily from California here on a working holiday visa. We’re excited to explore beautiful NZ and are often looking for house/pet sitting gigs and other work opportunities!

We see house sitting as a great way to experience a place like a local. We enjoy following homeowners’ routines and recommendations, both at home and within the local community, and we take real pride in caring for homes as if they were our own.

We’re both hardworking young adults who’ve recently finished university in California and are now taking a year to travel and explore another beautiful part of the world. Both of us have worked in hospitality & adventure settings for many years and love the outdoors - see below for bios of each of us. Lily is 23 and was born in England but moved over to San Diego, California when she was quite young. She has worked in many restaurants as a server & barista, volunteered at elderly communities, and has plenty of experience with house, animal & baby sitting back home. Lily is also potentially going to be furthering her education online which means that she’d be at the home quite a bit getting work done on her computer, so she’d have an eye on things through most of the day.

I (Shane) am also 23 and have worked as a surf instructor & in restaurants throughout most of my life in California. I’ve done many house sitting jobs (oftentimes together with Lily) and am very comfortable with animals. I also have experience with basic handyman work and gardening on other people’s properties.

The types of animals that we’ve taken care of are: dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, chickens, cows, pigs & more.
