I’m Cannelle, a 31-year-old French writer who recently moved to New Zealand for a fresh start. Growing up in a big family, I’ve always had a love for people, animals, and meaningful connections.

I travel too much to have a pet right now, so housesitting is the perfect way to care for animals while discovering new places. Everything is better with cats and dogs in your life, and house sitting allows me to enjoy their company wherever I go.

I've always been passionate about travelling and writing. A few years ago I started to feel stuck in my former life. I felt like I needed a change. New Zealand had always been a dream, so I decided to go for it.

I grew up in the Caribbean, in a big family. My mother has 10 siblings so I have a lot of cousins which was a joy growing up. I also grew up around a lot of pets (two cats, Apple and Caramel, and two dogs, Prince and Radja). Radja was the one I was closest to as I'm the one who found her in our garden. We had just moved... it felt like kismet.

She was so young and frightened, and though she wasn't physically hurt, she was wary as if something bad had happened to her. It was love at first sight for me. I wanted to take care of her, protect her and I told my mum exactly that.

She stayed with us for 12 years. One day I got home from university (I was living in France then and Radja was still at my mum's in the Caribbean) and my mum told me that she was sick. To this day, I believe Radja waited for me to let go and I will forever be grateful for that.

I know a pet is more that a "just" a pet and I will make sure to care for yours just as I would my own. Whether it's cuddles, walks, feeding and whatever else they need, I'll be there. So far I looked after a beautiful German Shepherd, and two equally beautiful cats. At the moment, I'm looking after a lovely cavoodle and I can already tell the goodbyes will be hard.

I can look after playful puppies who need a lot of attention, as well as senior dogs with special needs, and everything in between. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and I know how important it is to keep their routine as normal as possible, offering them the affection, playtime, and attention they need.

I will do everything to look after your pet the way I would want mine to be looked after: with care, patience and lots of love.

Cannelle and her sister looked after our cavoodle and our home for 5 weeks. We received regular updates and photos of our dog whilst we were on our trip which was appreciated. The home was very tidy and lean on our return and our dog in good health. I would recommend Cannelle as a very reliable and responsible home sitter.
Cannelle was a wonderful house sitter She looked after my property, my cat, and my airbnb. The airbnb reviews for her were all very good. My cat is a companion cat, so likes to be around the company of people. She was very happy ! I would gladly recommend Cannelle as a house sitter. Thanks Cannelle for being great !

Canelle and her sister were a dream from start to finish. Great communication leading up to and during the dogsit, house immaculate when we got home, photos of our dogs every day on amazing adventures. Perfect! Ideal experience - enjoy NZ
We were so lucky to have Cannelle and her sister sit for us. The animals were so well looked after. Unfortunately the weather did not play ball for them but they made the most of it anyway. They were extremely helpful in ensuring out place was prepared for the incoming cyclone. Cannelle had excellent communication and we would highly recommend her for any further sits.
Cannelle was a great sitter for us. Great communication and pictures of Sally while we were away. House left nice and tidy.
