favoriteWhy I love house sitting

As a semi-retired remote Life Coach, I can work from anywhere. House sitting lets me explore the world while giving animals loving care and routine. I enjoy creating a peaceful, homely atmosphere so pets feel happy and owners can travel with peace of mind.

Animals have always been a natural and meaningful part of my life.
I grew up surrounded by a wide variety of pets — our family had dogs of many breeds over the years (from Rottweilers and Dachshunds to Beagles), and I loved taking them for walks, brushing them and simply being with them. I was also responsible for our bantams and a budgie, and we kept sheep and a pony in our large garden. We partly lived from growing our own food, so caring for animals and nature has been second nature to me since childhood.

Later in life, animals continued to be part of my everyday world.
I volunteered at an animal shelter where I cared for dogs and took them for regular walks. At home, I lived with a cat who decided to adopt us, and my son later brought home two chinchillas from the shelter. When he moved out to study, I took full responsibility for them — they lived to around 17 years old with attentive, dedicated care. I also regularly looked after a friend’s Beagle and took him on long walks and hikes.

Since May, I have been house sitting actively and have already enjoyed a variety of rewarding experiences.
I cared twice for the same dog in Germany, supported the recovery of two Burmese kittens who were unwell, and looked after a Labrador in France. Each sit has confirmed how much I love building trust with animals and ensuring they feel safe, loved and relaxed in their own home while their owners are away.
My profile on TrustedHousesitters reflects very positive reviews, especially for communication, responsibility and the happiness of the pets on their owner’s return.

Connecting with animals is natural and joyful for me.
Every animal has its own personality, preferences and needs — and I enjoy responding to them calmly and intuitively. Whether a pet needs quiet companionship, playful energy, long walks, brushing or special care, I’m always happy to adapt to what makes them feel secure and loved.

As a house sitter, my values are care, respect and reliability.
I look after homes and pets with the same attention and responsibility I would give my own. Clear communication, daily updates and a peaceful presence are important to me, so owners can enjoy their time away with complete peace of mind.

Later I volunteered at a dog shelter where I looked after dogs with different temperaments and needs. Over the years I have cared for dogs of all sizes, cats (including Burmese), chinchillas and small pets. Recently I completed four house sits with 5-star reviews, including caring for an elderly dog, two sick Burmese kittens and a Labrador. I’m confident with walking, brushing, feeding routines and providing special care when needed. Animals tend to relax quickly with me and I enjoy giving them a calm, loving and stable presence.
