Trustworthy mid/late 30s animal-loving couple exploring Aotearoa via sanctuaries and house sits!

favoriteWhy we love house sitting

We are loving the opportunity to explore new places, and all of the animal cuddles!

We are a Scottish couple, Bob (he/him) and Rhona (she/her) visiting New Zealand on a working holiday visa. We arrived in New Zealand in September 2025, initially on a 1 year visa but we expect to extend to the maximum 3 years.

We have owned our property in Scotland for 12 years so have plenty of experience in looking after a home. We are used to sharing our space with animals, having had pet house rabbits for 10 years. We love all animals and we're enjoying spending time with animal ... Read more

We have our own car and we are travelling the country via house sits and animal sanctuary volunteer stays.

Honestly couldn't have asked for better people to look after our fur babies & home. Rhona & Bob were excellent all around, their clear communication & updates with pics gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came back to a clean & tidy home & our fur babies even looked slightly disappointed to see us & not their new friends haha. Thank you for taking such incredible care of our babies Rhona & Bon, we couldn't recommend you both enough.
Rhona and Bob are a delightful couple who accepted the mission to look after our 12 acre property in the Coromandel for 3 weeks. Our main reason for finding a housesitter is always to care for our dog. They took that role very seriously and basically dedicated their time to spending their days with her. They also fed and kept an eye on our 7 chickens, 1 duck and 8 sheep, moving them from paddock to paddock as requested. Rhona and Bob are a reliable, conscientious and caring couple who ... Bob and Rhona were the perfect house and pet sitters. Their communication leading up to us going away was great, and they provided lovely updates of our boy while we were away. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived home. Most importantly, our cat was happy and relaxed. We'd definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to others.
I would highly recommend Rhona and Bob as great housesitters. They looked after our 2 dogs (Maltese Shitzhu and labrador), and shetland pony, and also kept an eye on our alpacas and cows on our lifestyle block. They were 100 percent honest and trustworthy, with excellent communication, responding immediately to messages. They left their studio accommodation very clean and tidy. On top of that they were super friendly and easy going. We look forward to having them visit again in the future.
Rhona and Bob are a delightful friendly couple that looked after our Springer, CoCo and our house esceptionally well. During their sit, they frequently updated us on the activities that CoCo was having, (Very spoilt she was.) latest postage arrivals and my building requests. They left, our house in an excellent condition and CoCo was sad to see them go. We would certainly recommend Rhona and Bob for any other house sits and we hope to be able to use their services again in the future. Andrew
Rhona and bob looked after our 3 dogs for 11 days and the dogs seemed well cared for and exercised during this time so we are very happy. We communicated by phone on several occasions prior to Housesit so hopefully they were well informed of what was required etc and given info of the area. Unfortunately I didn’t meet them personally due to work commitments but my husband handed over the house/and introduced the dogs. We had updates during the sit but were happy with no news is good news ... Rhona & Bob were wonderful house sitters! Came home to a spotless house and happy pets! Communication was awesome too. The whole experience was a 10/10 for us and would absolutely recommend them to anybody! Thanks Rhona & Bob x
Rhona and Bob were absolutely lovely. They were great communicators and very trustworthy. I think the animals were sad to see them go! We would love to have them sit again.
It was a pleasure having Rhona and Bob house- and cat-sit for us while we were away. Their communication was excellent, keeping us updated on how Patchwork was doing—especially over fireworks night. They were wonderfully patient as Patchwork built up her curiosity and trust, ensuring she was well cared for. They were also very respectful and tidy around the house, even going the extra mile to wash the sheets and towels before they left.
Peace of Mind

Happy you!

With a house sitter looking after your pets, house and garden - you can really relax. Happy days.
