Hi there. My name is Wil, I'm 60 and a writer. I have an excellent reputation and contactable references. I am a non-smoker/non-drinker and have had extensive experience looking after the wants and needs of many a treasured family member: cats, dogs (all and every kind) chooks, sheep, cows, donkeys, a grumpy mule and a one eyed crow named Arthur.

Born and raised in Hawke's Bay, I completed a plumbing apprenticeship. (As a creative, my heart wasn't in it) I moved to Australia and started working as a professional musician in a Beatles cover band for many years touring the world. I spent 10 years working in radio, including five years in Alice Springs as breakfast announcer, before escaping the heat and working in communications at Royal North shore hospital Sydney. I returned to New Zealand in 2014, completed a 3 year degree, then an MA in modern letters at Victoria University Wellington, which is where I'm based.

I am an extremely quiet and respectful house guest. I'm a full time writer and work from home. This allows me to provide lots of attention to your lovely hairy friends.

Above and beyond, wonderful pet sitter! Our cat unfortunately got very ill while we were away for a few months. We were very lucky that Wil went above and beyond with multiple vet visits and a very involved tricky medication and feeding schedule. We cannot thank him enough, it was wonderful knowing that our cat was in such good hands. We asked Wil to come to our house in the UK to house sit from 18th January until 27th March. We had a video call before he came to the UK from New Zealand which made it easier when he arrived for him to be able to settle in quickly having had a conversation about ourselves and the house. Because we don't have any pets it was easier for Wil to explore some of the U.K which we were very pleased he was able to do. We were also pleased Wil was able to see different parts of the UK while he was here. We'd gone to New Zealand, where Wil lives and we were able to have a good time in New Zealand. Wil was a great communicator from the get-go; he was very responsive and offered to come out and meet us twice in the lead up to the sit. We appreciated receiving his once-daily updates of our cat Finn, which were always accompanied with the funniest little artistic portrait photos of him. We returned from our trip to a clean home - Wil even went the extra mile and washed the bed sheets and towels, as well as replenished a couple of pantry staples.
Huge apologies for the typo in my review of Kimberly and Ben. Their flat was 'comfortable' in the extreme! So sorry.
We had the pleasure of meeting Wil prior to the house sit which we really appreciated as it put our minds at ease. It also gave us the opportunity to show Wil around our home and it’s quirks. Our main priority was Woody was cared for. After warning Wil that he might not see him at all, they made friends within an hour! A miracle 🤩 Wil’s communication was excellent. We received regular updates and photos of Woody which we really appreciated. Garden care wasn’t required just watering our pot ... Wil was a fabulous housesitter - he communicated quickly and clearly, he offered to do extra things around the house that we hadn't asked him to do (eg wrangling our old mower into mowing the lawns), and he sent regular updates of our cat and plants. The house was spotless on our arrival home. He made good friends with our cat - which was very reassuring while we were away as she can be a bit highly strung. We'd get Wil back in a flash to look after our home!
This was the first time we used Wil as our housesitter, very quickly we felt at ease with him and his calm nature. Wil is an excellent communicator (via WhatsApp) and we were delighted with the reassuring communications and pics of our cat Marley, enjoying and being totally comfortable with his new hoomen. Will always responded quickly and did what he said he was going to do and pleasingly part of Wil's style is to include a drop off and pick up service from the airport, which was very much ... Very good communication & regular contact.Mowed lawns & tended to pool as arranged.A water tank problem arose & his involvement to get it sorted was much appreciated.Some of our written instructions were not clear which resulted in some confusion.Overall we were happy with Will
Very disappointed in the overall four-star review as I put my all into looking after the property. I was only asked to do the lawns once as it was a large area, ended up doing them twice so they came home to a tidy looking section. Especially surprised at the 4 star pet care. I absolutely love cats and cherished little Tabby. The instructions were written as things to show me before the owners left, not any actual details. Not sure that's completely my fault. I felt I left their beautiful house as I found it, clean and tidy. I always go out of my way to do this as seen in my many 5 star reviews.

Wil's communication with us was consistent with regular photos of our pets, eating, sleeping and receiving cuddles, which we appreciated. We could see our cats were very comfortable and happy around Wil. Our house was immaculate on return and highly recommend and would use Wil again, if he will have us. So grateful for how well our fur babies have been taken care of. Wil's a kind, caring and easy person to get along with, thank you fir all you do.
Will did a fabulous job of minding our indoor and harness walked cat! We came home to a tidy house, washing done, bed remade and most importantly, a happy cat. Will was quick and easy to communicate with, and sent us lots of excellent photos of the cat and her garden adventures while we were away. We would be very happy to have Will house-sit for us again.

Wil has been amazing and we would definitely have him house sit for us again in the future. Our cat is really shy and hesitant around people but Wil has been great with him and managed to become best buddies. He definitely is a cat whisperer. Communication has been amazing, with regular updates on how things with our cat have going. He has also keep the house, gardens and lawns in immaculate condition. 10/10 would recommend Wil for any housesit.
Good, pro-active communication and the offer to provide lifts to and from the airport was thoughtful and much appreciated. House was left clean and tidy and plants well cared for, although some kitchen items were left in the wrong place, necessitating a bit of searching when we returned.

Wil and his partner did a fabulous job as our housesitters, and we're so grateful for their care. Our cats were clearly very content when we came back home, we loved the regular photo updates and the house was CLEAN and tidy. Wil is very prompt and thoughtful in his communication. In other words: we can highly recommend him and hope that in the future we can call on him again!

Will provided excellent care of our cats and our home while we were away for almost a month. One of our cats has special needs, and we were able to rest easy knowing Will was giving him his twice daily insulin injections. The house was clean on arrival, and Will was really good at communication while away. We’d be happy to have him sit again anytime.
Will is a rea gem of a house sitter. The place was clean and tidy, lawns mown and even weeding done while I was away for six weeks. He kept me updated with photos and my cat was happy and healthy when I got back. Thanks Wil!
I couldn't have found a more wonderful person to look after my house and more importantly my animals. They are all missing him and I hope he can come back soon. He is also charming and interesting and kept me up to date with photos of the animals every evening. Thank you Wil
Will looked after our house and cat vey well. She is nervy but he obviously put her at ease and the photos he sent proved it. He went the extra mile by leaving us milk in fridge upon our return. I would highly recommend him.
Highly recommend Wil. Regular updates with great photos of our cats were a real relief. Came home to a tidy house and cats that were much happier than after the usual stay in the cattery.
We are very thankful to have had Wil as our housesitter. He did a great job looking after our property, Luna the cat, plants, sheep and our 2 chickens. Communication was easy, we constantly received pictures of Luna and reports on how things were going. On our return, the house was tidy the lawns looked great, and Luna was happy. 100% recommend Wil as a reliable housesitter.
Communication is Wil's strenth. From his emails, photos, texts and calls, Wil set himself up for a successful housesit and then achieved everything we asked of him. He looked after our home for us very well and we were able to relax back into "life"when we returned home as he had everything ready for us - inside and outside. We highly recommend Wil and hope we can engage him again at another opportunity.
