I have been housesitting for years now. I look after the animals in my care as if they are my own!

My name is Kari and I am 54 years old.
I was raised in the Hutt Valley and lived predominantly there and and in Whitby for most of my life. I grew up around cats and dogs and have had many pets through my life including fish, birds and rats. In Whitby with my late partner I owned my own house and we have fish and cats who cohabited nicely with us. I am also very used to gardening and looking after vege patches.

I grew up around cats and dogs and have had many pets through my life including fish, birds and rats. In Whitby with my late partner I owned my own house and we have fish and cats who cohabited nicely with us. I am also very used to gardening and looking after vege patches.

My previous house/pet sits include being on a small farm property to look after cats, fish, rabbits, chickens, sheep and cows, with the best experience is herding cows in my work cloths at 7 am in the morning (something different to start the day). But I am also happy to curl up with a cuddly cat and read a book.

I work part-time hours (6 hours a day) three days from home and two in the office and also do training first thing in the morning (this can mean walking with dogs). I have my own transport and a little flexibility to work from home. I am a responsible and respectable person, who looks forward to looking after your pets in your home and having their company for a time.

Pet care

I have looked after most animals including sheep, up to 30 cows (low maintenance - but really I didn't do a lot), and domestic animals. We were so lucky to find Kari and have her house sit for us. She took great care of our pets and her communication was excellent sending us daily updates. Even checking if we needed anything attended to before the recent cyclone hit. I highly recommend Kari as a Housesitter.
Kari was great, communication was always quick and easy from the get go. We got super frequent photos and updates about our doggo. The house was super tidy when we got back.
Kari was willing to housesit for us on short notice, which we were very grateful for. We arrived back home to very happy fur babies. Kari shared some photos and updates during our time away, keeping us in touch with how our fur babies were doing.

Kari is a fantastic house sitter who always takes great care of our dog and home. It’s lovely to go away and know everything is in safe hands at home. Highly recommend!
Kari was great, sent me lots of pics of the pud while I was away. was a seamless trip without me having to worry know that Kari has looked after many animals.
Kari is amazing, great comms and updates while we were away. She dealt with a situation of our blind falling off the wall, she called a friend who came and fixed it and she tidied everything like a boss. Would recommend her to anyone. Thank you so so Kari ❤️ will keep you in mind for our next sit.

Kari is wonderful! Kari took such amazing care of our dog and our home. Kari made everything easy, and we were able to enjoy our holiday knowing that our dog was in safe hands. Highly recommend.
Kari was a great house sitter. We received almost daily updates with heaps of photo's showing how much our dog was enjoying herself and being enjoyed by others. The garden was overgrown but to be fair it was fantastic growing weather and Kari wasn't expected to tame the forest! Good experience for both sitter and houseowner.
Kari is the BEST housesitter! We felt so comfortable with leaving our very mature cat with her. We will have Kari back again!
Kari was fantastic. I felt quite nervous about leaving my 11 month old dog for a week as this was the first time been away from him. She was very communicative sending photos and updates. He had to go to the vet whilst I was away and she took him and kept me informed of how he was doing. I felt so happy knowing he was been well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend her and I will use her again when I go away next. She also looked after my cat Murphy.
Arrived home from radiation treatment in Wellington, (we only had very short notice of the radiation) to 2 very contended dogs, they had enjoyed Kari's care and walks, and we really enjoyed the video's and communication we had with her, and hope she's available next time we are away.
I can't thank Kari enough. First time in about 8 years we have had a long holiday as always thought it would be too much to try organise the house and animals but Kari made it a breeze. The place was immaculate, everyone happy and we loved the doggy pics and updates while we were away. We will definitely be keeping in touch. Thanks again Kari.
Kari was our first sitter on this site, she was great at communicating with us throughout her stay and also sending photos of our dogs on walks. Veggie patch and pots were looked after and everything was clean and tidy when we got home. Very happy dogs too. We have already booked Kari for another stay.
Kari is great! We have had Kari look after our pets twice now and both times we came back to happy fur babies and a clean home. On our first trip away I was anxious as our cat is very nervous around new people but Kari sent photos and kept us updated on how he was doing, and by our next trip he was absolutely fine which proves he had definitely warmed up to her. Kari had no issues with feeding and keeping our two rats hydrated which was a relief as not many people like rats, even though they ... MoreKari is great! We had a worry free holiday, knowing Kari was looking after our house and miss Poppy :O) We came home to a very happy wee dog, and our house as we left it. Kari is a trust worthy, kind and caring lady, and I would love to have her house sit for us again in the future, thank you Kari :O)

Kari is amazing. She has the best communication and made us feel secure in knowing our pets were being taken care of. The house is in pristine condition. From start to finish, this has been an A+ experience.
Kari is an excellent sitter. She kept us informed of how our dogs were doing with a photo and phone call. Everything was left clean and tidy at our home. We were comfortable leaving our girls with Kari and would recommend her to others.

Having met Kari, we were comfortable leaving our two Burmese cats in her care while we were away and returned home to two happy cats and the house left clean and tidy. Would love to have you sit again sometime for us.
