A professional couple, approaching retirement, still active outdoors people. We are caring, respectful and reliable with a love of animals.

favoriteWhy we love house sitting

For us, having had house sitters in the past, we understand how important it is to feel confident and at ease knowing your pets are well looked after and given that continuous love whilst you are away from them. Also knowing that your property will be looked after and respected as if it was our own.

We are just starting out on our journey as House Sitters on this site. We have undertaken dog/house sitters successfully through this site in the past. However, we recently lost our 15-year-old Huntaway (rescue dog) who we miss dreadfully. We still have a lot of love and care to give to other pets.

Over the years we have owned a number of properties in rural Banks Peninsula and Waimarama, Hawkes Bay (lifestyle block) where we had goats of our own and the local farmers cows. We now live in a small village in Hawkes Bay.

I was a self-employed Personal Trainer for 8 years until we moved to our lifestyle block where I undertook projects of all kinds. I am currently undertaking a Pet First Aid course and hold a Canine Behavior Training Diploma. Nigel is a Beekeeper and we have a hive set up on our property. Nigel is also a retired volunteer Firefighter. He works for a local company in IT and can work remotely as long as there is a good internet connection.

We have experience of looking after our friends' dogs whilst they are away, having them stay with us or in their own home. When we traveled, we took Lucy with us and always respected the rules and regulations of the houses we occupied.

We understand how pets need company but also are aware of the space and routine that is set up for them.
