We’re Paul and Trudie, an active and friendly couple who are ready to embark on our next big adventure – traveling around beautiful New Zealand in our trusty caravan, making furry friends along the way.

Hello there!
We’re Paul and Trudie, an active and friendly couple who are ready to embark on our next big adventure – traveling around beautiful New Zealand in our trusty caravan, making furry friends along the way.

We’re seasoned pet lovers and proud "pawrents" to one adorable dog, as well as doting "grandpawrents" to two fur grandkids. Weekends for us are all about long walks, slobbery kisses, and cuddly sleepovers while their humans take a break.

Travelling with us is our 11 year mixed breed dog, Flo. She is very social and laid-back, suffers from some arthritis in her hips but is still always looking for a stick at the beach to retrieve from the waves or a walk in the countryside.

Paul has recently retired from his own business, and I have retired from full time work but still do some computer work part time. With plenty of energy and time on our hands, we’re excited to combine our love of pets and travel the country in our caravan, while house-sitting in some of New Zealand’s most beautiful destinations.

As homeowners, we know just how important it is to have someone reliable to care for your home and animals. You can trust us to be respectful, tidy, and dependable. Need someone to water the plants, mow the lawn, or tackle those pesky weeds? Consider it done.

If you’re looking for a couple who will treat your pets like royalty and your home with the utmost care, we’d love to chat. Whether it’s tails that wag, paws that purr, or any other kind of companion, we can’t wait to meet your extended family and give them all the love they deserve.

Pet care

We have looked after small numbers of sheep, cattle, alpacas, goats and chickens. Feeding, collecting eggs, and moving goats, sheep, cattle and alpacas around the property as required.

We cannot recommend Trudie and Paul highly enough! They house sat for us while we were away for 3 weeks vacation and did an absolutely incredible job. We have a diverse crew of pets, and they handled everything perfectly. They took such wonderful care of our little dog Abbey, our elder cat Possum, and our farm dogs Bobby and Mac. It is difficult leaving your pets, but Trudie and Paul gave us total peace of mind. We came home to happy, relaxed animals and a spotless house. We truly feel blessed ... I could literally see the house glowing as I arrived home in the dark at 2am in the morning! It was so shiny and clean, the dog was very calm and happy (and gifted a new toy) but is still sulking about the departure of Trudie & Paul, her new favourite people. They took care of lots of little odd jobs, Paul even fixed a couple of leaky gutters, sorted out a possum and resolved a major maintenance project with the tradesman. Trudi & Paul were amazing. The dogs were well looked after with photos sent to us while we were away. They moved cattle & looked after hens & cat. The lawns were mowed & the house was so clean when we arrived home. Especially the windows...Thank-you Paul. We would highly recommend them for future house sitting.
Paul and Trudie took very good care of the house and left it better than when they came. The pets were excellently taken care of. Gourmet meals for the dogs and extra care for the cat and goats. Paul also fixed the gates so the goats stayed in their place. Paul and Trudie both have a way of making the animals at ease. Clear communication with photos made my time away without any worries about things at home. I recommend Paul and Trudie as capable, friendly house sitters.
If there was an option to give Paul and Trudy a 6 out of 5 I would! They were brilliant from start to finish with the car of our home and dogs as well as their communication and updates. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having them look after their home whilst they are away.
We had a wonderful experience with Paul and Trudie - our dogs were loved and extremely well cared for. They miss Paul & Trudie and think we are rather boring compared to them!!! Our other animals - alpacas, sheep, goat were also well cared for. They even cleaned the windows, mowed the lawns and had a stew in the crockpot waiting for us when we came home on a cold night! We loved having Paul and Trudie pet sit for us, they were great with keeping in contact with us messaging photos each day of our pets, we came home to a very clean house with our sheets all washed and a lovely new house plant. And the cats both seemed happy and relaxed . We would love to have them come stay again and would recommend them in the future.
