Hi there!
We are a christian couple recently retired, married with 3 adult children who have all flown the nest. We have been house sitting for over the last 8yrs having left a family home that we lovingly cared for. We are tidy, minimalist and treat property and pets with care and respect as we would our own.

We have been house sitting for over the last 8yrs having left a family home that we lovingly cared for. We are tidy, minimalist and treat property and pets with care and respect as we would our own.

We endeavour to provide as much assistance as possible with regard to care, maintenance and security of property, pets and farm animals while your away including gardens, lawn mowing etc, (also caregiving/respite care by separate arrangement. Refs available)

Generally we are looking for minimum of a four week housesit unless housesat previously, will take on a shorter timeframe if available.

Currently available Dec 2025/26 with preferred areas in or near Tauranga, Mt Maunganui and surrounding areas >but will consider anywhere in New Zealand.<

What a pleasure it was to arrive home to a clean, tidy and sweet smelling house....... We met with Steve and Ann a few weeks before we went away and felt confident that they would be great house sitters and they didn't disappoint. Our home was looked after so well. Everything was in it's place, The pot plants were watered and the lawns all mown. They also kept in touch with us with regular texts and updates, all the time we were away, We really appreciated having this lovely couple stay in ... Steve and Anne are the BEST! They started as just housesitters, but great ones. Now they're friends. Our dog .Maisie. missed them. They accommodated our change of plans so well. SSteve fixed things that went wrong. Anne showed me how to cook in our fire. Such neat people. We will see them again, defi itely. Thankyou 🏡🧡
Steve and Ann did a wonderful job looking after my home and dog. Marley loved the time spent playing games and walking, I could see she was happy and comfortable with her new friends.. They kept in touch while I was away with messages and videos and I came home to a lovely tidy house with mowed lawns. Even my neglected lettuce seedlings were planted out. Steve and Ann would have to be among the best house sitters we have ever had. From the initial communication they were positive, friendly and easy to engage. They put themselves out to meet us prior to the sit, and clarified our needs. During the sit we got reassuring messages and updates. Most importantly we returned home to an immaculately clean and tidy home and two very happy dogs. We could not recommend them more.
It was our first time using a house sitter and we were a little nervous but we had absolutely no need. Steve and Ann were wonderful, we had a video call first then a meeting which set our minds at rest. Frequent communication whilst we were away and we returned to a very clean house and happy animals. We would have no hesitation in booking Steve and Ann again
The Pickering’s are a wonderful duo that looked after our house, garden and animals comprehensively. Kitchen cabinetry got spontaneously repaired, light fittings got updated, and missions to drop off one of our dogs 70kms away was kindly performed so graciously. Many thanks to them both.
Steve and Ann recently did a 15 day housesit for us looking after our small farm property with cattle and 2 small dogs. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great for their stay but all the property was so well cared for, the animals were moved rain, hail or shine 😊 We came home to a beautifully clean and tidy home , and very well cared for and happy dogs. Definitely recommend Steve and Ann to look after your property.
We had Steve and Ann stay at our house and look after our dogs for just over 2 weeks. When we returned the house was exactly how we left it and the dogs were very happy and healthy. They communicated well when needed and gave us the reassurance that all is well while we were away. Everything just seemed to easy and breezy they made going away not a difficult thing to do. I would highly recommend them ☺️
Steve and Ann took great care of our three cats. One of our cats has kidney issues and requires daily medication and it was wonderful to know she was in such safe hands. We returned from our holiday to very happy cats and a lovely tidy home! Thank you Steve and Ann!

Not only did they take great care of the house and gardens watering pruning and weeding etc they also handled and took great care of our animals . There was a situation with a very sick sheep Steve took control of advising us of the current situation as things went along They are a very friendly homely trustworthy house proud couple who we ...
