We use to have a dog and as Helen use to live on a Sheep/Cattle Station, on the Lewis Pass, she feels she gets her “fix” of farm life and being with a dog for a short time. Malcolm enjoys the country life he never had, being brought up in London, even so, he always had a dog as a companion.

Hi we are a non-smoking couple interested in Life Style Farm "looking after", Dogs and all other animals. We were on Kiwi HouseSitters looking for "babysitters" for our Staffie, Sonny but we lost him just over 3 years ago. To get our "animal fix" we would like to help people out with what we can offer.
Helen was raised in the High Country, Lewis Pass, North Canterbury. Animals she is use too, dogs, cats, pigs, chooks, sheep, cattle, horses and deer. Malcolm is from Down Town London, but loves ... Malcolm is from Down Town London, but loves all things Kiwi, shorts, bare feet and speaking with a Kiwi accent;-). He has had dogs all his life and with Helens guidance he has proved to be a useful "farm hand". You can rest assure that your animals will be well exercised and cared for. If you are interested and require references these can be supplied. We look forward to hearing from you.

Pet care

When looking after “puppies”, we don’t like leaving them on their own for much longer than “going grocery shopping”! Exercising them, as long as they are up for it, as it’s great exercise for us too!

The other animals included a wild black pig, goats, rabbits, chickens, sheep with their lambs and especially “puppies” and their furry friends, cats. We enjoy all animals, and their different characters!

Helen & Malcom were fantastic. They spent 5 weeks in our home and left it in spotless condition. Cats very happy! We gave them the use of our vehicle for the period they stayed and left it clean, tidy and fuel topped up. We would certainly ask them again and would have no hesitation in giving a verbal reference to anyone that asked. 5-star service provided! Thank you both so much Raewyn & Paul
Helen and Malcolm were amazing house sitters. They looked after our animal family amazingly, as well as caring for our unplanned puppies. Amazing couple, took care of everything, allowing us to go away and relax. . Communicated well, before, during (but only when necessary) and after sit. A fun down to earth couple. Very easy to talk with. Animals were very well cared for and very happy on our return, and our home was immaculate. They also made an effort to get out and about in the community, and to see what the area has to offer. Highly recommend Helen and Malcolm.
Liz & Pete's home is lovely and warm plus very comfortable. We enjoyed our time with Romany, Fleur, Swish and cute little Gert. We were able to get the "girls" to come to us when called, while Romany "chose" when he was listening to us! ;) Romany was great for pats when indoors, as long as we ... We were so lucky to have found Malcolm and Helen to look after all of our animals while we went on our annual holiday. The animals were really happy and healthy when we arrived home. Our gardens were taken care of too, all vegetables flourishing. The house was so clean which was so helpful. Myself and my animals would gladly have them back again. Highly recommend them to others.
Malcolm and I enjoyed our "holiday" with the puppies, Woody and his mates, Luna and Fern, not forgetting Wolfe and his mates. The Alpacas, didn't seem impressed with us, but maybe we didn't speak their language. Janine and Adrian made us welcome in their lovely home and we enjoyed the comfortable ... Helen and Malcolm were wonderful! We couldn't have asked for better house sitters. They looked after our dogs Oskar and Cuzz, cats, chickens, horses and pet lambs while we're away and we came home to happy animals and a clean place. They took looking after Oskar the dog very seriously and sent updates throughout the week. Thank you so much for everything, we'd love to have you back next year! X Franzi, Wes and Ellie

I was very fortunate to have Helen and Malcolm housesit for a week while I was in Queenstown on a much looked forward to break with family. They looked after my 6 dogs, baby chicks and chickens wonderfully. Dogs were a bit lost when Malcolm left, especially Klaus as he gets attached to people very easily. Upon my return, I was delighted to find everyone clearly having been well-cared for. Helen went the extra distance to clean linen and they removed all rubbish from the house as well as ... Helen and Malcolm were fantastic in every regard. The cats, dogs and cows were happy and well cared for. The house was spotless and they had the fire going but turned down so that the house was warm when we arrived home, Highly recommended we would definitely use them again. It was a total pleasure looking after Charley, Paddy, Kiki, Rosie plus the cows. We were sad to leave. Thanks Maree and Kevin for OUR great holiday .
