We previously sat as 'Jacki and Paul', a mature couple with excellent reviews. Since 2022 this has changed as Jacki's chronic illness has continued to progress; she is now in an Auckland residential care facility and we no longer can sit as a couple. While taking some adjustment for us, Paul will continue to house sit as a single - which he has done several times.
Paul is a non-smoking, clean, mature, and responsible person with excellent tenant references available from our landlords and great reviews on Kiwi House Sitters.
As experienced pet owners, he knows how to look after your fur babies, understand you want them well looked after, and for Paul to give them companionship while you are away. Paul enjoys daily walks, and having loved our own cats, dogs and other pets will make sure they have any play time and exercise they need. Additionally, Paul likes gardening so he is able to do some light gardening, watering etc. while you are away.
Paul's motto is: I am looking after others' property as if it was my own, I leave a house as neat/clean as when entered - or better if possible; I love your pets as if they were my own.
Why am I wanting to continue wanting to house sit for you?
When Jacki and I started sitting the time was right to end our adventures overseas and start new ones back in our beautiful New Zealand. CoVid-19 accelerated our plans to return; Jacki's illness has changed our life priorities. Presently, after 18 months of Paul caring 24/7 for Jacki, he is basing himself in Auckland to be near her, but also still traveling within New Zealand, visiting our families, spoiling our grandchildren and renewing our friendships. It was, and still is fabulous reacquainting ourselves with our beautiful country and housesitting gives us this opportunity.
Paul is doing some freelance research and advocacy, and not working fulltime. He has a work-from-home routine preference so will be home lots during the day to keep your fur babies company. He is quiet, caring and respectful of others - so should get on with any neighbours too.

Paul was a pleasure to have house/cat sit while we were away for an extended period of 2 months 3 weeks. He graciously took us to Rotorua airport, then picked us up upon our return. He even left some provisions in the fridge, so that with jetlag, we didn't have to runout to the dairy. It felt great to come home and see the house and our cat, Midi, so well looked after. All the while, he sent us newsy emails about the weather, and letting us know that he and Midi were getting along really well. ... This was the second time we had Paul house sit for us and they really are great house sitters. Our cat Tonka gets along with them very well and when you come home its very welcoming to have it tidy and clean. If you plan to go away I strongly recommend them as your sitters.

Paul did a fantastic job looking after our house, he was very polite and asked how we wanted to be notified and what needed the most attention while we were away on our holiday.
The house was very clean and tidy upon arrival and he even left us a nice gift out of kindness.

Paul and Jacki were fantastic to have in our house. They are very experienced with animals and looked after our cats amazingly. Unfortunately, one of our cats got very sick and their communication and care of her were beyond belief. We came home to a beautifully clean house, lots of helpful notes, and restocked coffee! I would highly recommend them.

Found them very critical of bench and the Laundry which I had warned them it was cluttered because I kept my bird cage in there so that they did not have to move it out when it was fine. The house may be dark but that is hardly my fault !! They did not coprehend my washing machine dial which indicates which wash is required hence 2 basket fuls of washing for me to do when I got home. My cat was well looked after as was my bird

We stripped our bed sheets and pillow cases and towels and we normally wash them before we leave. However, we did not this time as we explained and apologised for in the note and when we phoned. We are not sure how this equates to 2 full baskets. We valculmed your floors twice in the stay, cleaned the bathroom and toilet to sparkling and your fridge doors and Kitchen sink and bench; dirty oven tray, etc. Sorry if our truthful review offended.
Thanks Paul and Jackie, we were super lucky to have you, the house was spotless when we got home, our dogs were very well cared for and the regular updates made our holiday very relaxing. Would not hesitate to recommend you for future housesits. Good Luck and thanks again.

Paul and Jacki are a lovely couple and were clean and tidy staying in our home. They went above the call of duty - doing some well needed weeding in our garden and our 2 cats seemed very happy with their company and were well looked after. They were very communicative and I would thoroughly recommend them as house sitters and would use them again.
