Pet sitting & House sitting job in Canterbury
Canterbury - Christchurch
My partner and I own a lovely large home in Bishopdale with a resident cat, Hamish, who is 1 year old. Hamish is an orange tabby British shorthair kitten who is extremely affectionate and social. We'd love someone to take great care of him and our home while we're away in Nelson over Christmas. Note: There is a bit of flex in these dates but will be at least a week and a half.
In exchange for looking after our kitty, you'll be able to enjoy a spacious home in a central suburb of Christchurch. Our first and foremost requirement is that our cat is well cared for. Ideally, we'd really like the house to be left as you found it - cleaned before you depart as it will be when you enter. We are very tidy and house proud, so we need someone to be mindful of our property when they stay and treat it as they would their own.
Summer is lovely at our place as the house gets a lot of sun. We would need a little watering done and for this length of time would probably ask that you mow the lawns but aside from that the garden takes care of itself.
Plenty of opportunity for return sits as we do go away frequently. Please only enquire if you do love the company of cats as Hamish is more like a small dog! :)
Please note - for this sit you'd need to be able to either have a Zoom call with us then meet at the house before we head away or be local to meet in advance.
- We have one security camera with a sensor at the front door which is purely there for the purpose of peace of mind that someone is actually staying in our house. We have had 'pet sitters' in the past that have left our cat alone for more than 24hours and this isn't acceptable for us. Please only apply to do this sit if our cats welfare will be your top priority. I will flag that if our sensor picks up any unusual activity or a lull in activity, we do tend to check it to make sure you're regularly coming and going and that Hamish isn't being left alone. Rest assured we are not spying on you!
- While we are away we would ask that no-one other than the housesitter/s agreed who we have met reside at the property. This means you'd need to be comfortable staying at the house on your own if you're a single sitter as we don't want others visiting the house.
