We need a house sitter

Canterbury - Mackenzie

Needing care are- two farm dogs, two Jack Russell Terriers ( the oldest one lives inside) and one German Pointer, a reclusive but much loved ex wild cat, and hens. There are also goats and a few sheep. We always leave a folder with notes about the animals, relevant information and helpful contact numbers of our neighbours and friends who are available to help. Watering the vegetable and flower garden ,and seedlings would be appreciated. There may be a few lambs to check up on too. Further details could be discussed by email. We would prefer mature New Zealand house sitter/s for this particular sit, especially people with some farming knowledge, however visitors to NZ who are confident around dogs, poultry and goats would be considered. Arrival date is the day before we leave.

Lovely place to visit and stay for a few days - close enough to town that if you want something you can go and get it and far enough away that you get peace and quiet in the countryside. Treated to an ensuite room, cooked meal the first night I was there, friendly neighbours, and friendly houseowners. No rating Liz and Peter are a very friendly and outgoing couple, they were easy to get on with, they live in a comfortable house set on a farm in a beautiful part of the country, not far from town, and it is very quiet there, with a nice outlook. The farm dogs are well trained and obedient, and feeding a few pet lambs and chickens was fun. We had a lovely time, and we highly recommend this house sit!

No rating Liz and Peter were a pleasure to housesit for in their beautiful home. They were very welcoming and I felt part of the community straight away. Their dogs are lovely and kept me busy. I would really recommend housesitting for them.
