Charis & Brett

We are a Kiwi couple who live in Nelson. I work (from home) in accounting standard setting and Brett is a biological farming consultant. We have a 6 year old, Carter, and 1.5 year old, Scott, who both love animals and are very kind and gentle with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs etc. Throughout 2019 we house sat for dogs, cats, alpacas, horses and chickens across the Nelson Tasman region while we were building our house. We've now moved in to our own home, but still do the occasional house sits around Marlborough Sounds, Nelson Lakes and Golden Bay, Hawkes Bay, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura.
We fostered dogs for many years while living in Canada, and have experience as a family with puppies through to older dogs with special needs. Because I work from home I'm able to be around during the day to keep pets company and to give them regular walks. Brett grew up on a dairy farm and I grew up with horses, so we're comfortable with all sorts of animals and are happy to care for your lifestyle block.

We are also avid gardeners, our current project is planting a native bush section on our city section, together with a number of fruit trees and veges. We love spending time outdoors and can take care of weeding, planting, harvesting, mowing etc.
