JANUARY 2023 UPDATE - SORRY FOLKS, HELEN & PADDI ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR HOUSE-SITTING.

We've finished our 7-month trip around the South Island and are heading back to Carterton to await delivery of our new house, by truck, onto our section! This will give us plenty to do for a good while.

We really enjoy house-sitting for you and your lovely animals, so as soon as we become available again, we'll let you know here!

We've been living in our bus since August 2017. After our dogs passed away we decided on a change, so sold our Carterton cottage of 17 years and moved on!

Until recently, Helen worked as a chef in a busy Masterton café, so we parked in various locations around the Wairarapa, all within commuting distance of her work. Paddi is a retired audio-tech, and worked part-time in Masterton.

We own a section in Carterton, another in rural Masterton and we're slowly developing them both further, whilst taking the bus around the South Island over the next year - or longer!

We're dog lovers, and can happily follow care-instructions for other animals, though large-scale, farm situations would be beyond us. Sorry, we're not comfortable with horses. Lawn-mowing and simple gardening are no problem,

We are solvent, organised and together people. We are good communicators and work well as a team. We plan ahead and we like things to run smoothly!

For our bus and our light van, we require firm ground to park on and a normal power socket within 20-30 metres. We also need the use of a shower, toilet and laundry. We can live in the bus or your property - whichever suits best.

Please note the bus is large! It is 9.6m x 2.5m and 3.4m high, and needs plenty of room to manoeuvre. Your property needs great access. Overhanging branches have been a challenge. If possible, we are always happy to come and have a look at your place - to say hi and see if things will work out for both parties :-)

We are non-smokers and fully vaccinated.

There are not enough stars to rate Helen and Paddi high enough. From the moment they arrived, I knew our home and animals would be in good hands, and I felt happy and relaxed. We arrived home a day early due to a water supply issue (which could have been a big problem but they took it in their stride and Paddi did everything he could to sort it out). When we met with Helen & Paddi we immediately felt confident leaving our dogs & house in their care. We very much appreciated Helen's kind offer to run us to the airport the morning we left for our holiday. While away we received text messages and photos showing very contented (spoilt!) dogs . There was flooding in our area at the time and we received reassurance from Helen that all was well with our property. We returned home to an immaculate, warm home. It was great to have Helen and Paddi sitting our property and pets. Our chickens and cats were very well looked for. But the luckiest one was Poppy, our dog. She was very spoiled by them.
