David & Lorraine

We are a retired New Zealand married couple with time on our hands and would love to house sit your home and pets when you take a vacation. In the past we have had our own house pets, cats, dogs and tropical fish.
We would prefer house sitting during the NZ School Holidays.
We are non-smokers and are covid-19 vaccinated plus 6 boosters.
Our son and family live in Auckland and our daughter and family live in Melbourne.
From 2005-2015 we ran our own Bed & Breakfast in Hamilton mainly managed by Lorraine while I worked as a Mathematics & IT teacher at a local high school in Hamilton, retiring in January 2015. I still do some day relief teaching at two secondary schools and have current Teachers Practising Certificate valid until end of 2026 with police vetting.
Lorraine & I have lived and worked in Australia and England in the mid 1970's (3 years) and again in 2003 as an exchange teacher, Surrey, UK.
We have holidayed in Southern Germany, visited a number of European countries and experienced Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA and Australia, visiting friends. Our winter vacations of late have been to the Gold & Sunshine coast of Australia with trips to Melbourne to see our grandchildren.
When our children were young we hosted many International Students from South East Asia and Lorraine for 8 years was the Homestay Manager for a company in Hamilton, placing secondary school students with vetted families. We still have strong bonds with some of the Asian families today.
