  • Have looked after most farm animals and regularly house sit for a few farms a few times a year which include farm stock, multiple large dogs, horses, pet sheep, pet goats, chickens, deer, alpacas and kune kune pigs. Depending on the season and length of sit depends on tasks needing to be done each day. Usual tasks include feeding the various animals, delivering hay to farm stock, checking daily water supplies, giving any meds, hand feeding baby animals (usually orphaned lambs), watering and maintaining gardens during summer. Any other tasks like moving stock between paddocks are usually on a as needed basis and anything I am less familiar with I usually have instructions for and can pick up quickly.

I am Amy and I am 30 and from Wellington. I house sat full time from May 2019 until May 2021 and loved it. I have now moved into my own house and have a newborn baby (Nov 2023), and have an almost 2 year old golden lab (his birthday is Oct 2021) so will only be doing casual sitting and at places where I can bring my family and pup along with me. But note the pup will not be left at home alone and will always be with me when I am out. He is extremely friendly and gets on well with other dogs.

I work as a Team Lead out in Porirua and my partner also works in IT but out in Wellington CBD. Our work is flexible and we are able to work from home when required making us the perfect house sitter for anyone with pets.

We are very tidy, thoughtful and caring people. Both non smokers and quite quiet people so there won't be any issues with neighbours if they are close by or in a flat. I have my full drivers license and car so can get to and from places easily and happy to take dogs out with me in the car down to the beach or further out for a nice hike/bush walk. I love animals and enjoy keeping (very) active so will be more than happy to walk/run your dog(s) and look after all other pets.

I have experience looking after dogs of all sizes including very large dogs such as Leonbergers and German Shepherds. I also grew up with birds and cats. As I am a patient person, I am good with very shy animals who need extra time and care. I also have experience with rabbits, chickens and various farm animals (sheep, goats, horses, cows, alpacas, pigs) and am happy to move animals between paddocks when required.

I am happy to also keep your gardens tidy and watered when required and do enjoy small amounts of gardening from time to time.

Amy is an incredible house, farm and animal sitter. We were overseas and Amy kept us well informed about the animals and farm. There was quite a work-load with three German Shepherd dogs, two old cats with special needs, chooks, a horse, a spoilt goat and pet lamb, not to mention all the farm stock. Always love having Amy come and look after our house, farm and animals. There are a lot of animals to feed in the morning and keep an eye on (not so great when the wind is blowing and the rain is cold)! I never worry about the place when we're away, as Amy handles everything with ease!!!

Glad we found Amy for our week away. She was easy to communicate with, extremely professional, went the extra mile to make sure we were OK (we were back late from hols so she changed our bedding!) and took really good care of our pets (cats, mice and fish). Wouldn't hesitate in recommending her or using her again.

Amy was a wonderful caring house and pet sitter who worked very patiently with Bella to win her trust - no mean feat as she can be a little diva at times!. Amy kept in touch regularly with photos and messages to reassure us of Bella's wellbeing. This was the first time we have used pet setting services and we thrilled with the outcome. We have no hesitation in recommending Amy and would happily engage her services again.

I cannot thank Amy enough for house sitting our home for what turned out to be 18 months. Amy was reliable, conscientious, mature and easy going, but I found this was evident from meeting her initially, all was confirmed when she was put in a position of having to look after our house for so long. Returning home from a long trip, I was expecting to walk into a cold house. But no. My wonderful housesitter, Amy had put the heat pump timer on to ensure the house was just right.
