Rachel and Julian

38, Creative Arts Therapist

33, Certification Officer

Greetings friends!

We are an English/German couple living and working in New Zealand. We live in beautiful Motueka, Tasman, where we are both working from home. We have extensive experience living in community and living off the land in various places around New Zealand, and would like to continue the adventure of exploring this land through house sitting opportunities.
We both have experience house sitting for members of the Plum Village Sangha and other people here in New Zealand, as well as WWOOFing on both islands.

I (Rachel) am a qualified Creative Arts Therapist, I love animals, and have a keen interest in crafts and art-making. I have a deep connection with forests and enjoy walks in nature. My work focuses on supporting those with complex trauma and/or neurodivergence, and I am looking to begin PhD study later this year. My own experience with taking care of animals is with my own pets back in the UK (cats) as well as housesitting experiences where I looked after goats, chickens, cats and vege gardens.

Julian, my husband, has a degree in Organic Agriculture, and works as a Certification Officer for BioGro. He is a jack-of-all-traits, loving cooking, DIY and woodworking. Julian has done extensive travelling in his 20s, working on different farms throughout the world, taking care of an array of animals/pets (dogs, cattle, goats, chickens, horses) during this time.

We have the gift of freedom for the next 6 months (September 2024-March 2025) where we both work from home and are not attached to one location in New Zealand. We are open to travel out to any location in NZ.

What we can offer:
- mature, considerate, responsible and clean people taking care of your beloved home
- non-drinking, non-drugs, wholesome living
- big hearted care of your animals, ensuring they are not just fed, but loved in your absence
- mindful use of your home, ensuring it is as good as you left it when you return home
- peace of mind and clear communication whilst you are away, knowing you have left your home in good hands.

Peace of Mind

Happy you!

With a house sitter looking after your pets, house and garden - you can really relax. Happy days.
