Hi! My name is Benedict, 45 years old, originally from the UK and living on the Kapiti Coast since 2010.

Prior to Juno 'choosing me' (she just rocked up and decided to stay: we had no choice in the matter!), my place was virtually a dog hotel, with regular 'loan dog' Casio the chocolate Labrador staking a claim as my adopted fur baby. I also regularly cared for friends and friends-of-friends dogs including an adorable Beagle (Abbie) and a Chocolate Lab cross named Charlie, amongst others (check out my pictures to see these fantastic beasts!)

In addition to caring for many dogs at home, I am an experienced sitter via another popular housesitting website, through which I have sat many times in the UK and New Zealand, for cats and dogs.

Other than spending time with family and pets, my hobbies include being an amateur musician (mainly a guitarist and other stringed instruments), reading, walking (preferably with a 4 legged friend in tow) and studying all things to do with the mind (psychology, hypnotherapy, transactional analysis, to name a few).

Most of my time is taken up running my own small business, which is a digital marketing consultancy. Essentially, I help other small businesses to be found online, via Google and social media.

Self-employment has its pros and its cons, but certainly one of the major advantages to my line of work is that it can be done from pretty much anywhere (with an internet connection!)

I enjoy my own company and love travelling for short or extended breaks and for a change of scenery.

I'd love to be able to make connections and form some friendships that may even lead to repeat house-sits and lots of fun hanging out and playing with adorable furry friends.
