A bit about us - we are Sian Faber (a Kiwi from Sumner, Christchurch) & Guy Faber (African-born, UK-educated Australian) and we are fit and ready to help look after your home and loved ones.
We are self-employed designer/artists who sold up our Sydney home after 25 years to experience a different lifestyle. The last 4 years has seen us travelling between NZ, Sydney & our Art Studio in Gaucin nestled in the mountains of southern Spain, where we look after a boutique guesthouse of 4 bedrooms & upto 8 guests.
Prior to this our love of travel saw us letting our own homes over 2 decades - always making sure our own animals were well looked after, so we understand the importance of having the right caretaker.
In New Zealand, our home is a charming, self-contained motorhome, called 'Lulu'. She allows us to travel, work and visit our NZ family of 9 nieces/nephews, 3 brothers & one mother, while enjoying the great outdoors. Our 2 electric bikes keep us fit while painting (Sian) or fly-fishing (Guy), and - when the season allows - we are usually found parked near a river in a remote mountain area.
As well as loving & respecting the environment, we have grown up with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, pigs & horses around rural properties so we have a good knowledge of looking after animals, and in 2019 we became the first international members of the Gore Sheep Dog Trial Club.
We understand the importance of hygiene, indoors and outdoors, furniture and carpet protection, flea and worming control, the right feeding regimes, exercising, obedience and good manners... and, of course, physical cuddles, play & genuine affection.
We are also experienced in general home, vehicle & garden maintenance, & we are tech-savvy enough to understand home security, Wifi & home entertainment issues too.
So, to conclude:
Guy: born in Africa and UK educated, is a designer and ran his own agency in Sydney for 25 years, as well as a catering company. He loves his cycling & fly-fishing (catch-&-release). A good all rounder with a green thumb, he is a handyman, who can apply himself to solving most problems or - if not - finding the person who can.
Sian: After Christchurch, Sian's family moved to a hobby farm in Whangarei, and later she graduated from Elam Fine Art School in Auckland, before moving to Sydney in 1988 where she ran her own Pilates and Remedial Massage business for 25 years loves all things to do with the ocean, is very interested in health, food, exercise, hiking and dog-walking.
Thanks for checking us out.
With our armest wishes,
Sian & Guy
