Hello/kia ora 👋 My name is AJ - I am 40 years old, respectful, trustworthy, responsible and adaptable. I've been house sitting on and off since 2014 and first gained experience in it while living in Nelson (I lived there for over 2 years). I'm Christchurch born and bred, therefore I've done house sitting here too and also did a few times in London as I lived there for 2.5 years (I moved back home in early 2020).

The house sitting I've done so far has ranged from a few days to 4 months in duration and in the past it had been through friends, family, work colleagues or word of mouth. Though while I was in London, I became a member of Trusted Housesitters and completed a couple of house sitting gigs through that website. I joined Kiwi House Sitters in May 2022 because I decided I wanted to do house sitting on a regular basis as a professional house sitter and becoming a member of this website seemed like a great way to go about it (which evidently it is!).

During the different house sitting experiences over the years, I have looked after homeowners' dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, sheep, lambs, fish, house plants, homes, pools and gardens. I take pride in being able to give homeowners the security of having someone reliable minding their pets and property, as well as keeping their home spick and span. Most importantly, I care for everyone's pets as if they were my own ❤️

I really love animals and have been around them all my life. I grew up in a home with much loved cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, plus I have two adorable 15-year-old kitties of my own (Bella & Storm) who I adopted/rescued as kittens. However, because I've ended up moving around so much over the last 11 years, my cats actually live with my parents in Rolleston (and it's where I live in-between house sits as well). I look forward to when they can live with me properly again but for the time being, mum and dad take excellent care of their "grandkitties" when I'm not around 😻

A bit more about me: I'm a non-smoker, environmentally conscious. clean and tidy. I enjoy exploring, photography, outdoor recreation, reading, travelling, meeting new people, volunteering and caring for animals of all shapes and sizes (in 2016 I volunteered at a wildlife rescue centre in Thailand which was an amazing experience and one I'd love to repeat!).
