Jim & Susan

We are Jim and Susan, a retired couple who like to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle whether we are at home or traveling. Recently, we enjoyed 3 months of house sitting in the UK which allowed us to meet many lovely homeowners and their sweet pets. (* Please read below homeowner’s reviews of us from another site.) We are very excited for our extended trip to New Zealand February - May 2024! We can’t wait to meet new people and their pets, enjoy trying the local food, experience everyday life and visit the amazing sites all around the country. We love to include the pets we sit for on our adventures, and they seem to enjoy it as well! It’s fun to take them hiking, to a vineyard for wine tasting, to run on the beach, to go rockhounding in the river or exploring the country roads and fields. Taking care of your home is a priority for us so that when you return home there are no surprises! It is also important to us to maintain the established routines of your pet and give them all the love we can. Together, Jim and I make a great team! We've raised and loved several pets but are currently pet less which means we have a lot of love stored up to give to your fur baby!

"Susan and Jim were so easy to communicate with pre sit so we were able to organize meeting before we went on holiday. It was a pleasure getting to know them and seeing them get to know Daisy. We left her in their care without any qualms. Communication while we were away was excellent with daily photos and updates of their adventures.
The house was clean and tidy when we returned (even our dodgy garage door was short term sorted!). The garden and house plants all cared for. We are so pleased with this sit and hope to see Susan and Jim again.”

"The fabulous Susan & Jim, a lovely friendly couple. Our three dogs were very happy with Susan & Jim, well cared for and had lovely long walks. Communication beforehand and during the house sit was great. Our home was spotless when we returned, bed linen washed and changed, fresh flowers in the kitchen, a quiche and milk in the fridge, Susan had also made peanut butter biscuits for the dogs and Jim even cut our grass, impressed!
We can certainly recommend Susan and Jim for a house sit and would happily use them again, if only they lived in the UK! Five star all the way. Enjoy the rest of your UK trip.”

"Jim and Susan were outstanding dog sitters! They took the boys on errands and car rides, one of their favorite activities. They even took them on outings to a state park and a local college campus. The house was immaculate when I returned home, even taking time to wash the linens and towels and make up the bed. They were kind and communicative and I never worried once about the boys! The pictures and updates made my heart happy every time one came across. If they apply to house/pet sit for you, scoop them up because they are amazing gems!”
